  • Patent number: 9164784
Abstract: Various embodiments of a virtualization system and method are provided herein, wherein computer resources are emulated and simulated by a hypervisor system. In order to provide improved signalization within a virtual computer system, various embodiments may use a virtual CPU for signalizing an external event, wherein the virtual CPU is used temporarily by a signalization routine for processing the signalization of the event.

  • Publication number: 20150160962
Abstract: A process can be scheduled between first and second hosts that using a virtual file system that is shared between the hosts can be used. The process, running on a first hypervisor of the first host, can be scheduled to run on a second hypervisor of the second host. A file can be created that includes the data content of the process address space for the file. The file can be mapped address space of the virtual file system. Data from the physical memory of the first host can be transferred to physical memory of the second host using page fault routines.

  • Patent number: 8332594
Abstract: Memory management of processing systems running in a virtual computer environment and of processes running in an operating system environment includes identifying a usage pattern of a page in memory. The usage pattern is identified by tracking operations conducted with respect to the page. The memory management also includes designating the page as a candidate for sharing when the usage pattern reflects that a number of updates made to the page does not exceed a predefined threshold value. The candidate page is allocated to a first process or virtual machine. The memory management also includes sharing access to the candidate page with a second process or virtual machine when content in the candidate page matches content of page allocated for the second process or virtual machine to an address space of the candidate page.
