  • Patent number: 7578663
Abstract: The combined pump is a novel pumping system for fluids (liquids, gases) and for multiple-phase mixtures. This combined pump comprises a helical rotor on which a rotodynamic impeller is mounted. The helical rotor and impeller turns without touching inside a helical stator, and this helical rotor/impeller assembly and stator are arranged so that the cavities formed move from the suction toward the discharge. Using the rotodynamic impeller, the combined pump provides a pressurized fluid layer between the helical rotor/impeller assembly and the stator under conditions capable of improving the performances and the reliability of the pump.

  • Patent number: 7413416
Abstract: This progressing cavity pump includes a helical rotor (2) mounted to turn inside a helical stator (3). The stator (3) and the rotor (2) are disposed such that the cavities (4) formed therebetween move from the inlet (5) towards the outlet (6). In this cavity pump, hydraulic regulation (HR) means are provided for obtaining internal recirculation of the pumped fluid between at least two of the cavities (4) under conditions capable of performing at least one function selected from: achieving the desired pressure distribution along the pump, stabilizing the temperatures, controlling the leakage flow rates, and compensating for the volumes of compressed gas.

Abstract: The combination pump is a novel pumping system for fluids (liquids, gases) and for multiple-phase mixtures. This combination pump (7) comprises a helical rotor (2) on which a rotodynamic impeller (8) is mounted. The assembly consisting of the helical rotor (2) and impeller (8) turn without touching inside a helical stator (3), and this helical rotor (2)/impeller (8) assembly and stator (3) are arranged so that the cavities (4) formed move from the suction (5) toward the discharge (6). The invention is characterized by the fact that the pump (7) configured according to the invention guarantees, via the rotodynamic impeller (8), the means provided for forming a pressurized fluid layer between the helical rotor (2)/impeller (8) assembly and the stator (3) under conditions capable of improving the performances and the reliability of the pump (7).

  • Patent number: 6474939
Abstract: A cell for pumping a multiphase effluent includes two rotary parts (4-5), the first one (4) having a hydraulic wheel designed for transmitting kinetic energy to each of the multiphase effluent phases entering cell (1a-1b), and the second one (5), following the first, being an energy converting device designed for homogenizing the phases, transferring kinetic energy between the phases, entraining the lightest phase, converting kinetic energy into pressure and compressing the homogeneous effluent before it leaves the cell. All of the rotary parts of the cell are mounted on a common shaft (3) axially arranged inside a fixed housing (2) having an inlet and an outlet for the multiphase effluent.
