  • Patent number: 11946805
Abstract: A spectrometer apparatus is disclosed that includes at least one light source for irradiating a sample with light, an optical detection device for detecting light scattered by the sample, at least one optical filter device, which is arranged in front of and/or behind the sample, a contact sensor device for determining a contact between the sample and the spectrometer apparatus and for outputting a corresponding output signal, a control device for controlling the light source and the detection device in response to the output signal. The control device is designed such that the control device modifies at least one operating parameter of the light source and the detection device, when the output signal indicates the contact between the sample and the spectrometer apparatus. A method for operating a spectrometer apparatus is disclosed as well.

  • Publication number: 20230281193
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media related to generating query variants for a submitted query. In many implementations, the query variants are generated utilizing a generative model. A generative model is productive, in that it can be utilized to actively generate a variant of a query based on application of tokens of the query to the generative model, and optionally based on application of additional input features to the generative model.

  • Publication number: 20230054651
Abstract: A method comprising measuring a number of gamma-ray counts in a gamma-ray sensitive detector (60) that is placed outside a biological shield (10) near a primary cooling circuit (30) of a nuclear power plant, and determining the thermal power of the nuclear power plant based on the number of gamma-ray counts measured in the gamma-ray sensitive detector (60).

  • Publication number: 20080153173
Abstract: In a method for determining the concentration of organically bound halogens present in waste water, a pre-specified amount of waste water is withdrawn and converted into a measurement sample. A spectral measurement is subsequently carried out on the measurement sample, and the result of the spectral measurement is compared with reference measurements in order to determine the concentration of organically bound halogens. The organically bound halogens are enriched in the measurement sample by extraction or adsorption. Inorganically bound halogens are removed from the measurement sample. The comparison of the spectral measurement with reference measurements is carried out using chemometric methods.

  • Patent number: 7209288
Abstract: An optical observation device is connected to an extendable and retractable snorkel tube for above-water observation during the snorkel travel (travel at periscope depth) of the submarine. The optical observation device is designed as a compact unit which consists of an optronics unit with a short-travel drive. The compact unit is assembled on the snorkel tube. At least one further compact unit is provided which comprises at least one communication arrangement with a short-travel drive, wherein this further compact unit is likewise provided on the snorkel tube.

  • Patent number: 6259223
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for executing phase compensation in a control system of a motor-driven vehicle, in which the time derivative for an output signal (y) from a circuit (1) contained in the control system is limited relative to the time derivative for an input signal (u) to the circuit (1) if the time derivative for the input signal (u) exceeds a predetermined value. An error signal (&egr;) is formed between the output signal (y) and the signal (x) present in the circuit (1), the time derivative of which is not limited in relation to the time derivative for the input signal (u). The error signal (&egr;) is filtered via an asymptotically stable filter (3) to form a signal (&dgr;), which is fed back and subtracted from the input signal (u) of the circuit (1) to form the signal (x). A conventional rate limiter may be used to form the output signal (y) from the signal (x).
