  • Publication number: 20130087996
Abstract: A restraint device for a motor vehicle includes a support structure with a plurality of structural elements in which the support structure can be moved from a stowage position into a restraint position. The restraint device also includes a covering by means of which a restraint volume formed by the support structure in its restraint position is surrounded. At least one support element is provided by means of which at least one of the structural elements of the support structure is held in a predetermined form and/or position at least in the restraint position.

  • Publication number: 20130055919
Abstract: A device for inflating an at least two-layered air bag folded to form an inflatable belt for a safety system of a motor vehicle equipped with a gas generator is provided. The gas stream generated by the gas generator is directed onto the air bag from the outside and the gas stream produces an opening in at least one of the layers of the air bag in a physical process.

  • Publication number: 20130049337
Abstract: A valve device for a gaseous medium of an airbag is provided. The valve device includes a textile layer, in particular a woven fabric, which is permeable with respect to the medium at least in certain regions. The valve device also includes at least one film covering the textile layer in at least one region and which forms at least one passage region of the valve device, which is at least substantially closed in a closed position of the valve device and open at least in certain regions in an at least temporary passage position of the valve device.

  • Publication number: 20130033026
Abstract: An airbag with a valve device for a gaseous medium includes at least one textile layer and at least one foil that at least partially covers the textile layer such that due to the valve device at least one area of the airbag permeable by the medium can be at least partially opened when the valve device is in an open position and can be at least substantially sealed when the valve device is in a closed position.

  • Publication number: 20130020790
Abstract: A valve mechanism for a gaseous medium of an airbag is provided. The valve mechanism includes a first and second layer, which respectively include a passage opening that is substantially closed in a closed position of the valve mechanism by a corresponding cover region of the other respective layer. An adjusting element in the form of a tube with an adjustable volume provides a temporary passage position of the valve mechanism by lifting one of the cover regions of the corresponding layer from the corresponding passage opening.

  • Publication number: 20120061946
Abstract: An air bag is provided with a air cushion formed of one woven fabric. At least one functional element, which provides the airbag with an additional function, is woven into the air cushion in one piece. The functional element can be a tube system of a support structure airbag and/or a valve for unfolding of a support structure airbag.

  • Publication number: 20110248487
Abstract: The restraining function of support structure airbags in particular and mechanical airbags should be able to be specifically guaranteed in a simple manner. To this end, an air cushion for an airbag of a motor vehicle is provided, having a sleeve with at least one opening and a closure element arranged on the at least one opening in order to at least partially prevent air from flowing from a first direction. Furthermore, the closure element is flexible and has a channel-shaped design at least upon the flow of air from a second direction opposite the first direction. The closure element thus has the effect of a check valve.
