  • Publication number: 20240317282
Abstract: A device (9) for determining a speed of a rail-based vehicle with wheels on a predetermined network of routes includes an interface (8) for collecting one-dimensional or multi-dimensional vibration data (5) corresponding to vibrations of at least one wheel acting on the rail-based vehicle as an acceleration of the rail-based vehicle. The vibrations are detectable using at least one wireless sensor (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d) arranged proximate the at least one wheel. A learning module is configured to apply a trained machine-learned model to the vibration data to determine a ground speed. The trained machine-learned model is trained based on a distance traveled and a ground truth speed (17) and a corresponding portion of the vibration data (5).

  • Publication number: 20240318956
Abstract: A device (9, 9a) for estimating a current wheel diameter of a wheel of a rail-based vehicle on a predetermined network of routes includes an interface (8) for collecting vibration data (5) of at least one wheel acting on the rail-based vehicle as an acceleration of the rail-based vehicle. The vibrations detectable using at least one wireless sensor (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d) arranged proximate the at least one wheel. A computing unit is configured for generating a predicted speed on the basis of the vibration data (5). A comparator unit is configured for estimating a wheel diameter based on differences between the predicted speed and an identified, corresponding ground truth speed (17).

  • Patent number: 6264434
Abstract: A fluid evacuation and expulsion system, having a tank having a tank port, a top, a bottom, and an internal volume defined between the top and bottom, also having a pump having a pump inlet and pump outlet, and having a valve assembly having an actuation lever. A conduit is connected to the tank bottom for allowing fluids to enter and leave the tank. The valve assembly is connected to the pump inlet and pump outlet, as well as the tank port and an environment port. The actuation lever of the valve assembly manipulates four ganged valves which allow the system select between an evacuation mode wherein air is pumped from the tank through the tank port to draw fluids into the tank through the conduit, and an expulsion mode wherein air is pumped into the tank to expel fluids from the tank through the conduit.

  • Patent number: 4122309
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for generating a sequence of signals using first and second read-only memories, a counter associated with each memory as an address register, a source of timing signals connected to the input of each counter, decoding apparatus for the output of each memory and control logic to enable only one memory at a time. The two memories are organized in hierarchical fashion so that the first memory controls the second. Advantageously, the first memory provides for generation of unique portions of the sequence while the second memory provides for generation of repeated portions of the sequence.
