  • Patent number: 11082777
Abstract: A hearing assisting (10) device including a receiver (1) for generation of acoustic signals and a fixture (3, 8, 9) for positioning the receiver. A suspension (2, 21, 22) supports the receiver to the fixture. The combination of the receiver and the suspension has a mechanical resonance frequency in the range from 6 kHz to 10 kHz.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 1, 2016
Date of Patent: August 3, 2021
    Assignee: WIDEX A/S
Inventors: Lars Friis, Christian Christiansen Burger, Christian Lyngsoe Svejgaard, Jan Topholm, Rune Aarup Due, Toke Borgen Linander, Christian Andersen

  • Patent number: 10085095
Abstract: A hearing aid system and method of operating the hearing aid system, wherein the impedance of a hearing aid receiver is measured, values of two hearing aid receiver parameters are derived based on the measurements, an electro-acoustical model of the receiver is provided using the derived values, the model is used to predict (i) a non-distorted membrane displacement based on the derived values of the parameters measured at a zero bias voltage, and (ii) a distorted membrane displacement based on the derived values of the parameters measured at a non-zero bias voltage, based on the predicted displacements, a compensation gain is determined suitable to compensate non-linear distortion of the hearing aid receiver, and the compensation gain is applied to the processing of a hearing aid input signal.

  • Patent number: 9992582
Abstract: A hearing aid system and method of operating the hearing aid system, wherein the impedance of a hearing aid receiver is measured, the measured impedance is used to determine non-linearity characteristics of the receiver, and upon detecting that the non-linearity exceeds a threshold, the user is alerted and/or the receiver non-linearity is compensated.
