  • Publication number: 20220404466
Abstract: The present application provides techniques for reducing noise in sensor-based systems, such as radar systems. In particular, techniques referred to background supplemental cancellation (BaSC) and background supplemental loading (BaSL) are disclosed and facilitate improved detection of moving targets in certain types of radar systems, such as radar systems based on Reiterative minimum-mean square error (RMMSE) estimation formulations. The BaSC technique may utilize a hard cancellation, where clutter cancellation is performed prior to estimation, while the BaSL technique may utilize a “soft” cancellation technique whereby clutter cancellation is performed jointly with estimation. The clutter cancellation provided via the BaSC and BaSL techniques improves the accuracy of the radar system with respect to performing target detection.

  • Patent number: 9714878
Abstract: A pressure sensitive device includes a ring having a central axis, first side and second side. The ring includes a dielectric portion parallel to the central axis and between the first and second sides. A flexible membrane is connected to a periphery of the ring on the first side, the flexible membrane including a conductive portion. A perforated membrane is connected to a periphery of the ring on the second side. The perforated membrane is spaced apart and electrically isolated from the flexible membrane by the ring below a threshold pressure differential across the pressure sensitive device. The perforated membrane includes an opening therethrough and a conductive portion facing and corresponding to the conductive portion of the flexible membrane such that a threshold pressure differential across the pressure sensitive device causes deflection between the conductive portions of the flexible membrane and the perforated membrane to change an electrical property.

  • Publication number: 20090106297
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to create a media measurement reference database from a plurality of distributed sources are described. An example method of developing a reference database associated with media content includes receiving first identifying data associated with media content from a meter on a first information presentation device, the media content being locally accessible at the first information presentation device; determining whether the reference database includes reference data associated with the first identifying data; when the reference database lacks the reference data associated with the first identifying data, sending a message to the meter requesting first reference data for the media content; and receiving the first reference data associated with the first identifying data.
