  • Publication number: 20240033656
Abstract: A fluidic coupling is positioned between a first fluidic structure and a second fluidic structure. The first fluidic structure has a first channel configured for conducting fluid and opening at a first opening at a first surface of the first fluidic structure. The second fluidic structure has a second channel configured for conducting fluid and opening at a second opening at a second surface of the second fluidic structure. The fluidic coupling includes a sealing element and an elastic structure. The elastic structure may be elastically deformed by the sealing element, thus allowing a fluidic communication between the first channel and the second channel.

  • Publication number: 20230296571
Abstract: A valve may be utilized in a high-performance chromatography system for separating components of a sample liquid introduced into a mobile phase. The valve has a first valve element and a second valve element. By a movement of one valve element relative to the other, a first effective surface of the first valve element is brought into connection with a second effective surface of the second valve element, and a flow path may be produced or suppressed. The second valve element has an elastic region to compensate for an axial angle between the first valve element and the second valve element, such that the first effective surface and the second effective surface may be oriented parallel to each other. This may favorably influence a fluidic leak tightness and/or longevity of the valve.

  • Publication number: 20230256439
Abstract: A microfluidic component for a sample separation device includes a layer body with multiple metal layer structures that are connected with each other, and an element made of a material different from the metal layer structures, which includes at least one microfluidic structure and is bonded with the layer body.

  • Patent number: 9841337
Abstract: Disclosed is a pressure determining unit configured for determining a pressure of a fluid. The pressure determining unit comprises a body structure and a deformation detector. The body structure has a fluidic path configured for conducting the fluid, wherein the body structure has a first surface in a first dimension and in a second dimension, and a thickness in a third dimension. The deformation detector is configured for responding to an elongation into the second dimension of the first surface of the body structure by generating a signal indicative of a value of the pressure of the fluid in the body structure. The fluidic path of the body structure comprises one or more first channel segments, each first channel segment having a height into the third dimension being at least twice of its width into the second dimension.
