  • Patent number: 11092085
Abstract: A method for operating a gas turbine system includes utilizing a gas turbine controller to determine a schedule for a firing temperature for operative burners of a second combustor located downstream of a first combustor when the gas turbine system is operating in a low part load mode. During the low part load mode, multiple burners for the second combustor are switched-off. Further, the schedule is determined based on a position of inlet guide vanes of a compressor of the gas turbine system located upstream of both the first and second combustors. The method also includes controlling the firing temperature of the operative burners utilizing the schedule during the low part load mode to keep the gas turbine system within relevant operational limits of the gas turbine system.

  • Publication number: 20210060551
Abstract: Exemplary liquid lenses generally include two liquids disposed within a microfluidic cavity disposed between a first window and a second window. Applying varying electric fields to these liquid lenses can vary the wettability of one of the liquids with respect to this microfluidic cavity, thereby varying the shape and/or the curvature of the meniscuses formed between the two liquids and, thus, changing the optical focal length or the optical power of the liquid lenses. These liquids can expand and/or contract as result of varying temperatures. The exemplary liquid lenses include one or more thermal compensation chambers to allow these liquids to expand and/or contract without impacting the integrity of the microfluidic cavity, for example, without bowing or deflecting the first window and/or the second window.

  • Publication number: 20200333752
Abstract: A system is described for configuring another system, e.g., a robotics system. The other system interacts with an environment according to a deterministic policy by repeatedly obtaining, from a sensor, sensor data indicative of a state of the environment, determining a current action, and providing, to an actuator, actuator data causing the actuator to effect the current action in the environment. To configure the other system, the system optimizes a loss function based on an accumulated reward distribution with respect to a set of parameters of the policy. The accumulated reward distribution includes an action probability of an action of a previous interaction log being performed according to the current set of parameters. The action probability is approximated using a probability distribution defined by an action selected by the deterministic policy according to the current set of parameters.
