  • Patent number: 11860543
Abstract: A plate handling system (500, 600) for transporting printing plates between workstations in a process workflow. A plurality of vacuum gripper end effectors (512) configured to grip the printing plates are mounted to a computer-controlled transporter (514) configured to translate in at least three orthogonal directions and to rotate about at least one rotational axis. At least one sensor (560) detects orientation of the plate relative to a staging location and a controller (630) causes the transporter to move based upon programmed instructions in accordance with information provided by the sensor. A mobile preparation table (1000) may be provided in the staging location. A thickness measurement system (1090) may be included in some embodiments.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 2, 2024
    Assignee: Esko-Graphics Imaging GmbH
Inventors: Christian Diekmann, Jörg Koberg, Jörg Wolterink

  • Publication number: 20220017401
Abstract: A method for the production of glass ribbon portions is provided that includes: transporting a glass ribbon at a velocity v1, wherein the velocity v1 is dependent on the predetermined glass thickness (d1), with the application of a tensile stress parallel to the edges of the glass ribbon, in a plane E1, and cooling the glass ribbon at a cooling rate that is dependent on the predetermined glass thickness (d1), inserting a score on the surface of the glass ribbon in at least one edge area by scoring the glass surface with a scoring tool, wherein the score has an angle a to the transport direction of the glass ribbon, deflecting the glass ribbon in a plane E2 to generate a bending stress and separating a glass ribbon portion with the formation of edges by breaking the glass ribbon on the extension of the score running transversely to the glass ribbon.

  • Patent number: 7489067
Abstract: An electrical component includes a substrate, a first electrode layer, a structured growth layer that is thinner than the first electrode layer, a piezoelectric layer, and a second electrode layer. The growth layer is on the first electrode layer, the growth layer is structured relative to the first electrode layer, and the growth layer has a smaller surface area than the first electrode layer. The growth layer may be selected to support ordered growth relative to the piezoelectric layer.

  • Publication number: 20070103037
Abstract: In an electrical component with thin-layer construction that has a piezoelectric functional layer, the layer quality of the functional layer is improved in that a growth layer is provided between the electrode layer and the piezoelectric layer. Thus the function of the electrode layer is separated from that of a growth-supporting layer, whereby the functions can be optimized using separate layers independent of one another. Inventive components can be embodied as BAW resonators, thin-layer piezo-actuators, or piezo-sensors.
