  • Patent number: 11873285
Abstract: A process for making propene oxide involves reacting propene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of methanol, a titanium zeolite epoxidation catalyst, and nitrogen containing compounds present in an amount of from 100 to 3000 mg/kg of hydrogen peroxide. Non-reacted propene is separated from the reaction mixture; the propene depleted reaction mixture is continuously distilled in a distillation column providing an overhead product stream containing propene oxide and methanol and a bottoms product stream; and propene oxide is separated from the overhead product stream. An acid is added to the propane depleted reaction mixture and/or to the distillation column at the same level or above the feed point for the propene depleted reaction mixture and/or contacted to the feed to the distillation column to provide an apparent pH in the bottoms product stream of from 3 to 4.5, which reduces the nitrogen content of the separated propene oxide.

  • Publication number: 20220291669
Abstract: A method for monitoring a machining process in which tooth flanks of pre-toothed workpieces (23) are machined with a finishing machine (1) is disclosed. As part of the method, a plurality of measurement values are recorded while a finishing tool (16) is in machining engagement with a workpiece. Among them are values of a power indicator which indicates a current power consumption of the tool spindle during the machining of the tooth flanks of the workpiece. A normalization operation is applied to at least some of the measurement values or to values of a quantity derived from the measurement values in order to obtain normalized values. The normalization operation depends on at least one of the following parameters: geometrical parameters of the finishing tool, in particular its outside diameter, geometrical parameters of the workpiece and setting parameters of the finishing machine, in particular radial infeed and axial feed.

  • Publication number: 20220134459
Abstract: A method for automatic process monitoring during continuous generating grinding of pre-toothed workpieces, which permit early detection of grinding wheel breakouts. A generating grinding machine is used to machine multiple workpieces by clamping them onto at least one workpiece spindle and successively moving them into generating engagement with a grinding wheel. At least one measured variable is monitored during the machining to indicate if a grinding wheel breakout exists. If a grinding wheel breakout is indicated, the grinding wheel is examined automatically by moving a dressing tool over the tip region of the grinding wheel and generating a contact signal. A breakout is determined by analyzing the contact signal and, if present, the grinding wheel is dressed as often as necessary in order to eliminate the grinding wheel breakout. Alternatively, the checking of the grinding wheel is carried out directly at the first dressing stroke.

  • Patent number: 10871020
Abstract: A method for operating a building closure is disclosed. The building closure may be in the shape of a sectional door or a garage door. The position of the building closure and a motor current of a drive device is monitored by a control apparatus. When the building closure stands still, an electrical drive device arrests the building enclosure by providing an electrically conducting connection between winding of the drive device to ground. The position detection device continues to monitor a signal change such that in response to the signal change, the arresting is suspended and the electrical drive device is at least partially energized.

  • Patent number: 10870631
Abstract: In a process for the epoxidation of propene, comprising continuously reacting a propene feed with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an epoxidation catalyst in a reaction step, using propene in excess to hydrogen peroxide, to provide a liquid reaction mixture comprising non-reacted propene, extra safety measures caused by the presence of oxygen during work-up of the liquid reaction mixture of the epoxidation reaction can be avoided by stripping liquid reaction mixture from step a) with an inert gas to provide an oxygen depleted stripped liquid reaction mixture and a strip gas stream, selecting the amount of inert gas to provide an oxygen concentration in the strip gas stream in the range of from 0.1 to 10% by weight, separating non-reacted propene from the strip gas stream and recycling it to the reaction step, and separating propene oxide from the stripped liquid reaction mixture.
