  • Patent number: 5653514
Abstract: An automatically controlled braking system comprising a pneumatic vacuum servo and a pneumatic solenoid valve capable of selectively connecting the serov to first or second sources of pressure. The solenoid valve includes a flap valve which is subjected to a suction force proportional to the difference between the first and second source of pressured and acts in the same direction as an electromagnetic actuating force. Elastic means act on and apply a greater force to the flap valve to oppose the suction force. A current generator supplies a current having a predetermined maximum intensity to the solenoid to develop an actuation force overcome the elastic force and effect actuation of the vacuum servo.

  • Patent number: 5118167
Abstract: The brake circuit with hydraulic amplification of the input force is connected to a working chamber of a master cylinder (1) controlled by a brake pedal and comprises a source of fluid under high pressure (5), a brake motor (12) and a first valve (10) which, by way of a non-return valve (17), makes or breaks communication between the source of fluid under pressure (5) and the brake motor (12) as a function of the difference between the pressures of the fluid of the source and the fluid in the working chamber of the master cylinder. The brake circuit comprises, furthermore, a second valve (20) pilot-controlled by the pressure of the fluid of the source (5) and having a shutter (24) normally breaking communication between the working chamber and the brake motor (12) and making this communication in the event of a failure of the source.

  • Patent number: 4858438
Abstract: The hydraulic booster device controls a ball valve (25) to establish a communication between a source of fluid at high pressure (35) and a braking circuit (29) during a normal braking. In the event of failure of the high pressure source (35), the braking is ensured by pressurizing of the fluid contained in a chamber (33) by a piston mechanism (20), and transfer of this fluid into the circuit (29). An additional useful volume of brake fluid is supplied to the circuit (29) by fluid expelled from the chamber (11) by the penetration of the plunger (5) into this chamber, after the piston mechanism (20) has come to a stop against the end fitting (3). Application to a hydraulic braking circuit for automobile vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4778161
Abstract: Securing device for concentrically mounting a helical spring on a rod having a transverse abutment surface and a groove, the securing device being elastic and capable of being mounted on the rod and comprising a part intended to be received in the groove and an inclined surface forming an apex which, when the securing device is mounted on the rod, defines a point at a maximum distance from a longitudinal axis of the rod and is located at a predetermined distance from the abutment surface, the spring having an internal radius less than the maximum distance and being made from a substantially cylindrical wire, the radius of which is less than the predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 4751820
Abstract: The subject of the invention is a control device (10) for a twin master cylinder of the type with two master cylinders positioned parallell to one another and side by side, the device (10) being capable of being positioned between an actuating pedal and the pistons of the masters cylinder, the device (10) incorporating a control rod (44) which is capable of being connected to the pedal and two pushrods (28, 28') which are each capable of acting upon one of the pistons, the pushrods (28, 28') being guided so as to slide parallel to the axes of the master cylinders. According to the invention, the control rod (44) cooperates with the push rods (28, 28') through levers (52, 54) each of which is hinged at one end (56, 58) to one of the rods (28, 28') and is pushed so as to bear at the other end (64, 66) upon a bearing surface (62, 60) of the other rod (28', 28) by means of a peg (80) which is firmly fixed to the control rod (44). Application to the braking systems of motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4724675
Abstract: Control device (10) for a twin master cylinder (18) of the type with two master cylinders situated side by side and parallel to one another; the device (10) is capable of being positioned between an actuating pedal (12) and pistons (26, 26') of the master cylinders. According to the invention the device (10) incorporates a compensation (63, 63') of the travel of a control rod (52) situated on the same side as the pedal (12) relative to the travel of two independent push rods (34, 36') which are capable of acting upon each of the pistons (26, 26').
