Abstract: Provided herein are methods for purifying recombinant A Disintegrin-like and Metallopeptidase with Thrombospondin Type 1 Motif 13 (ADAMTS13) protein from a sample. The method comprises enriching for ADAMTS13 protein by chromatographically contacting the sample with hydroxyapatite under conditions that allow ADAMTS13 protein to appear in the eluate or supernatant from the hydroxylapatite. The methods may further comprise tandem chromatography with a mixed mode cation exchange/hydrophobic interaction resin that binds ADAMTS13 protein. Additional optional steps involve ultrafiltration/diafiltration, anion exchange chromatography, cation exchange chromatography, and viral inactivation. • Patent number: 7329199
Abstract: An actuator having an electric motor with a rotor shaft engaged with a gear set within a housing is provided. As an example, the gear set may be a planetary gear set. The planetary gears are engaged with a disk. The disk is fixed to a shaft rod or other force transmitting component such as lead screw. The lead screw is engaged with a traveling block. When the load screw rotates, the traveling block moves along the lead screw. The lateral movement of the traveling block may be linked to further force application devices, such as a pin or a cable. In one embodiment, the rotor shaft is a hollow tube, and the lead screw is a spindle or rod disposed to slide in and out of the rotor shaft tube.

  • Patent number: 6579723
Abstract: A method for purifying factor VIII/vWF complex or free vWF by immunoaffinity chromatography in a form suitable for use as a medicament. Factor VIII/vWF complex or free vWF is recovered from an immunoaffinity adsorbent by using an eluting agent containing a zwitterionic species. The presence of the zwitterionic species allows for the use of mild conditions throughout the preparation, facilitating retention of molecular integrity, activity, and incorporation of the recovered proteins into pharmaceutical preparations without the need for additional stabilizers or preservatives.
