  • Process for transfer of a magnetic layer from a temporary to a permanent support

    Abstract: A magnetic coating layer of magnetic particles dispersed in a resin binder on a temporary support is transferred to a permanent support by wetting the magnetic layer with an organic liquid which is a solvent for the binder and then bringing the wetted magnetic layer into contact with the permanent support and applying pressure at the line of contact. The magnetic layer is transferred to the permanent support without the necessity of a separate adhesive layer and without requiring application of heat.
