Publication number: 20240308897Abstract: System and method for micro-Super Critical Water Oxidation solids treatment of fecal waste are described. The system includes an injector vessel (112) and a reactor (114). The reactor can receive an injection of a slurry batch and an input of compressed air that is heated over time to a temperature at or above the critical point of water into the super critical fluid phase. A combined concentrator and phase separator (150)) can receive a treated output from the reactor and separate solid ash from liquid and gaseous effluent. A drying tunnel (170) can receive and dry the solid ash. The treatment process includes heating the slurry batch, within the reactor, to a temperature of at or above the critical point of water into the super critical fluid phase and maintaining the slurry batch a minimum temperature, within the reactor, for a predetermined treatment time to produce a treated output.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2022Publication date: September 19, 2024Inventors: Shannon YEE, David HASLER, Roland LEHMANN, Christian SEILER, Christian FORRER, Christoph FARRÉR, Andreas STAUB, Marco CADUFF, Janine GLATTHARD, Adrian GEMPRELI, Florian FISCHER, Daniel RÜDISÜLI, Valdinei FRASSON, Josef FISCHER, Tobias BLEIKER

Patent number: 10877058Abstract: A mechanism (10) for an automated Karl Fischer (“KF”) titration system (1) includes a support console (6), a first vertical guide rail element (11), solidly attached to the support console, and a carriage unit (12), slidably constrained to the first vertical guide rail element, allowing the carriage unit a first degree of linear vertical mobility relative to the support console. The carriage unit holds a vial lift unit (13) with a lift platform (14) for a sample vial (18). The carriage unit, in a downward movement phase, lowers the lift platform from a starting position into an oven cavity of the titration system. A subsequent upward movement phase raises the lift platform to the starting position. A second vertical guide rail element, solidly connected to the lift platform and slidably constrained to the carriage unit, enables a second degree of linear vertical mobility of the lift platform.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2018Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Assignee: Mettler-Toledo GmbHInventor: Christian Forrer

Patent number: 10809238Abstract: An analytical device has an oven arrangement (1) with an oven (2), an insulation system, a ventilation system and a housing. The ventilation system has a first convection system that uses natural convection, arranged to keep the housing cool, as well as a second convection system that uses forced convection, arranged to reduce the temperature in the oven (2). In particular, the analytical device is a component of a Karl Fischer titration instrument.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2018Date of Patent: October 20, 2020Assignee: Mettler-Toledo GmbHInventor: Christian Forrer

Patent number: 4841913Abstract: The automatic distributor of sequential rations of solid food for domestic animals comprises a tank (3) for solid food and a bin (6) receiving the rations as well as a control device enabling to program the number of rations delivered within 24 hours and the time interval separating them. The tank (3) for solid food and the bin (6) are both parts of a casing (1) and are rigidly fast the one to the other. The tank (3) comprises a lower aperture giving access to the bin (6) and an obturator (8), actuated by an electric motor (16) is displaceable between a rest position for which the tank (3) is separated from the bin (6), and a feeding position for which the tank (3) is connected to the bin (6) and feeds it with solid food by gravity. The upper face of the bin (6) is closed during the filling phase limiting thus the quantity of food delivered.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1987Date of Patent: June 27, 1989Inventor: Christian Forrer
