  • Publication number: 20240142355
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods to correct for perspective calibration variations of a variable thickness specimen with a single camera extensometer in a video extensometer system. In some examples, the systems and methods compensate for a change between a reference characteristic, such as a calibration plane, and an actual physical characteristic, such as a testing plane associated with a surface of a test specimen, during a testing operation. In some examples, a correction value is applied to an output (e.g., measured dimensions of the imaged test specimen) to compensate for the difference between the reference characteristic and the physical characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20240086902
Abstract: A method of retail engagement includes receiving a worn article from a user in a retail establishment, where the worn article includes dirt or debris on an outer surface of the article. The method then includes robotically cleaning the worn article to at least partially remove the dirt or debris on the outer surface. The cleaning comprises contacting the shoe with a rotating brush, and at least one of the worn article or the rotating brush is robotically manipulated to cause the contacting. Finally, the outer surface of the article may be adorned with one or more adornments, where the one or more adornments are selected by the user.

  • Publication number: 20200372410
Abstract: A machine learning model for reinforcement learning uses parameterized families of Markov decision processes (MDP) with latent variables. The system uses latent variables to improve ability of models to transfer knowledge and generalize to new tasks. Accordingly, trained machine learning based models are able to work in unseen environments or combinations of conditions/factors that the machine learning model was never trained on. For example, robots or self-driving vehicles based on the machine learning based models are robust to changing goals and are able to adapt to novel reward functions or tasks flexibly while being able to transfer knowledge about environments and agents to new tasks.

  • Patent number: 6946121
Abstract: The invention concerns a composition comprising at least a first constituent which is an oligosaccharide of formula (I) containing 3 to 5 oside units and having at least a D-galactose unit bound by an ?[1-6] bond with a sucrose unit. The invention is characterized in that in said sucrose unit R1, R2, R3, R4, independently of one another represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms and optionally having at least an unsaturation, a sulphate function or else an ose and, at least a second constituent which is a molecule positively charged with a physiological pH and stimulating pinocytosis or a molecule stimulating membrane penetration.
