  • Publication number: 20230392538
Abstract: A radiator fan module for a motor vehicle has a fan shroud with a fan impeller aperture and a motor support disposed within the fan impeller aperture, for an electric motor, and has a support-side housing part and has a plurality of struts that are connected to the fan shroud. A fan impeller is disposed in the fan impeller aperture and is driven in rotation about an axis of rotation. The fan impeller has a hub-side housing part and a plurality of radially outwardly directed radiator fan blades disposed on the hub-side housing part. The support-side housing part and the hub-side housing part have different diameters, wherein the support-side housing part or the hub-side housing part that has a greater diameter overlaps the other of the support-side housing part or the hub-side housing part, with an air gap being formed.

  • Publication number: 20220316496
Abstract: A cooling fan has a fan shroud with a fan wheel recess surrounded by a shroud ring and a fan wheel rotatably mounted in the fan wheel recess for conveying the air flow along a conveying direction from a shroud upper side to a shroud underside. The fan wheel has a central hub cup with radially orientated blades and an outer ring connecting the blades at the blade tip ends. A circumferential ring gap is formed between the outer ring and the shroud ring. A rib structure in the ring gap reduces swirl in a gap flow orientated against the conveying direction. A shroud ring section of the shroud ring extends axially beyond the outer ring on the shroud underside. The shroud ring section is orientated parallel or at an angle of inclination and radially inwards relative to the conveying direction.

  • Patent number: 11022139
Abstract: A fan wheel has a hub cup and a plurality of blades extending radially outward from an outer wall of the hub cup, which is in particular at least substantially cylindrical. Each blade has a leading edge and a trailing edge, wherein for at least one blade, the progression of a relative position of the blade's leading edge and/or the progression of a relative position of the blade's trailing edge has an aperiodically wave-like shape. There is also described a radiator fan module with a fan wheel of the type described above, and a motor vehicle with such a radiator fan module.

  • Patent number: 10697467
Abstract: A fan wheel has a hub cup and a plurality of blades which are arranged on the hub cup and extend radially outward from an outer wall of the hub cup which is in particular at least substantially cylindrical. Each blade has a leading edge and a trailing edge, wherein for at least one blade, an axial unit depth z*(t) of the blade has an aperiodically wave-like shape. A radiator fan module has a fan wheel of the type described above, and the fan wheel can be used in a motor vehicle.
