  • Publication number: 20240051042
Abstract: A side milling cutter includes a main body extending along an axis from a first end with an interface for connection to a rotational drive to a free second end, receiving a bearing face for a disc-shaped cutter holder. The cutter holder is fastened to the second end and supported with a first main surface, facing the main body, on the bearing face, having an outer circumference projecting radially from the main body and a central through opening penetrating the cutter holder axially. Coolant feed channels feeding coolant to the second end are in the main body. Coolant distributing channels feeding coolant to the outer circumference of the cutter holder are in the cutter holder. At least two coolant distributing channels branch off from a common coolant distributing chamber between the main body and the cutter holder and into which at least two of the coolant feed channels open.

  • Publication number: 20230191501
Abstract: A cutting insert, for producing a V-shaped profile in a workpiece by radial piercing relative to an axis of rotation of the workpiece, includes a reference plane and a V-shaped insertion region. The V-shaped insertion region includes, inter alia, two cutting edges in the reference plane, a rake face and a plurality of elongated chip-guiding depressions in the rake face, each extending in parallel with a depression axis of extent or extension axis in the reference plane, providing improved chip formation compared to the prior art. The depression axes of extent or extension axes each extend at a recess chip-guiding angle in a region of 0° to 45°. A method of using the cutting insert and the workpiece at a standstill and a machining method are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20210308773
Abstract: A turning tool holder includes a clamping portion for connection to a tool fitting of a machine tool and a machining portion having a seat for an interchangeable cutting insert. An internal coolant guide in the tool holder supplies coolant to the machining portion and has a first coolant inlet and first coolant outlet laterally of the seat. The first outlet has a bore laterally of the seat extending from a surface of the machining portion for receiving an interchangeable nozzle body with a shank region in the bore and a nozzle outlet region at an angle to the shank region on the machining portion surface. An internal coolant channel extends through the shank and nozzle outlet regions. The shank region has a periphery with a recess receiving a clamping element transverse to a longitudinal axis of the shank region fastening the nozzle body to the turning tool holder.

  • Publication number: 20210299757
Abstract: A clamping block receives a parting blade having an internal coolant guide. The clamping block includes a parting blade seat having a contact face for a lateral face of the parting blade. The parting blade may be received in a first installation direction and in a second installation direction. A first coolant exit opening for transferring coolant into the parting blade in the first installation direction, and a second coolant exit opening for transferring coolant into the parting blade in the second installation direction, are configured on the contact face. A first internal coolant duct structure connects the first coolant exit opening so as to communicate with at least two different first coolant entry openings, and a second internal coolant duct structure connects the second coolant exit opening so as to communicate with at least two different second coolant entry openings.

  • Patent number: 7341433
Abstract: A cutting insert includes a plurality of consecutively disposed, interlinked individual cutting inserts that can be brought into use successively through a respectively interposed predetermined breaking point by detaching a respectively preceding individual cutting insert in cutting use. The cutting insert has a blade-shaped construction with lower and upper bearing surfaces for being held in an elongated cutout with lower and upper opposing surfaces in a basic tool body of a grooving and cut-off tool or disk milling cutter. Each individual cutting insert is provided with a positioning device that cooperates with a complementary positioning device of the basic tool body. A grooving and cut-off tool or disk milling cutter and a wrench for the cutting insert, are also provided.
