Abstract: A method to authorize a mobile payment for a transaction. The method includes receiving a facial image of a consumer who requests the mobile payment for the transaction using account information stored in a mobile device of the consumer, wherein the facial image is provided by a point-of-sale (POS) device while initiating the transaction on behalf of the consumer, receiving a verified facial image of an account holder, comparing the facial image of the consumer and the verified facial image of the account holder based on a pre-determined criterion to verify the consumer as the account holder, generating, in response to verifying the consumer as the account holder, an authorization of the mobile payment based on the account information, and sending the authorization to the POS device to complete the transaction.

Abstract: A method for distributing a location aware mobile coupon (LAMC) based on a current location of a consumer using a mobile device. The method includes: receiving the current location of the mobile device from a location aware service (LAS) provider; comparing the current location of the mobile device to a retail location of a merchant to determine that the consumer is in proximity to the retail location of the merchant; obtaining pre-generated LAMC terms of the merchant specifying a maximum price discount of an item offered by the merchant; determining, in response to determining that the consumer is in proximity to the retail location, a price discount of the LAMC using a pre-determined formula based on the maximum price discount and a distance of the consumer to the retail location; and sending the LAMC including the price discount to the mobile device used by the consumer.

Abstract: Requesting and distributing electronic advertisements including electronic coupons and sales advertisements. A user of a mobile communication device such as a Smartphone views a current electronic advertisement of a merchant on a screen of the mobile communication device. After viewing the current electronic advertisement, the user wants to opt in to receive more electronic advertisements from the merchant and launches an application on the mobile communication device or accesses a software program. The application or program generates a request to receive additional electronic advertisements from that particular merchant. In response, additional electronic advertisements are provided to the user, e.g., through an intermediate computer and interfaces with a merchant computer or other source of electronic advertisements of the merchant.
