  • Patent number: 6210584
Abstract: A method for selectively extracted species from an aqueous solution which comprises contacting the aqueous solution with a membrane capable of selectively transporting species from a liquid to another, the membrane comprising a porous polymer support having an average surface pore size less than 100 nm, coated with a continuous layer of a fluorinated polymer obtained by plasma energized chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) using a plasma containing at least one fluorinated compound.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 1999
Date of Patent: April 3, 2001
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Didier J. Martin, Christian G. Guizard, Jean H. Durand, Hélène C. Lecacheux
  • Patent number: 5958245
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a device for the selective extraction of the halide ions from photographic baths. According to the invention, the solutions to be treated are subjected to a first nanofiltration step 2 in diafiltration mode, then to a second nanofiltration step 3 in concentration mode. The method makes it possible to prolong the activity of the fixing or bleaching/fixing baths during the processing of photographic products.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 29, 1997
Date of Patent: September 28, 1999
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Didier J. Martin, Christian G. Guizard, Jean-Francois Diaz
  • Patent number: 5112676
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the preparation of metallic oxides. The method is carried by controlled hydrolysis of metallic alkoxides using an alkoxide emulsion which contains hydrophobic water/solvent reverse micelles and a surfactant, then submitting the polymer gel obtained to thermal treatment. In order to prepare metallic oxides layers, the reaction product is coated on a support when hydrolysis is only partial.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 12, 1992
Assignee: Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique 'CNRS
Inventors: Louis Cot, Jacques C. Rouviere, Christian G. Guizard, Andre Larbot
  • Patent number: 4125692
Abstract: Di or polyfunctional macromolecular compounds having a terminal functional group at each end of the molecule are produced by selectively cleaving the carbon-carbon double bonds of an unsaturated polymer by the oxidizing action of a ruthenium tetroxide oxidizing system. The compounds are useful as components in crosslinked plastics materials, in binders for rocket fuels, and as components in tri or polysequential copolymers.
