  • Patent number: 7845389
Abstract: A method and continuous casting device for dynamically placing rolling segments against a cast bar made of metal, particularly steel. The continuous casting device is a bloom or billet casting device and has pairs of rollers that are placed against each other in a position-controlled and pressure-controlled manner by piston-cylinder units. • Publication number: 20090001804
Abstract: A controlling and/or regulating device for a lifting table (10) supporting a continuous casting mold (5) in a continuous casting machine (1) for liquid metal, in particular for liquid steel material (3), with an oscillating drive (11) comprising a plurality of stationary piston-cylinder units (12) which are articulated at the lifting table (10), with field measuring devices (16) at the hydraulic cylinder (12a), the signals of which field measuring devices (16) are fed via electrical connections (21)) to the control/regulating station (25) and back into the associated actuators, is operated in a fieldized manner and requires less resources for cabling in spite of the large quantity of electrical connections (21) in that the respective electrical connections (21) are guided in the vicinity (30) of the lifting table (10) as cable bundles (23) to an axle regulator (31) which is connected, via a fieldbus (22), to a memory-programmable control (32) located at a distance in the control/regulating station (25).

  • Publication number: 20080147349
Abstract: A controlling and/or regulating device for a supporting roll stand (2) of a continuous casting installation (1) for metals, especially for steel materials (3), comprises a plurality of successive roll segments (8) with lower frames (11) and upper frames (12) which can be adjusted relative to the other and pairs of piston-cylinder units (13). The measurement data of field devices (14) are acquired locally and processed. The controlling and/or regulating device simplifies the field cabling and the regulating concept by relocating functions to or next to a roll segment (8) in that the field devices (14) are arranged at or on the roll segment (8) or in the vicinity of the roll segment (8) at the stationary shop scaffold (17), and their measurement signals are processed by axle regulators (18) and are stored and communicate with a memory-programmable control unit (19) by a fieldbus module (20).

  • Publication number: 20080093048
Abstract: A continuous casting machine (1) for steel materials has a continuous casting die (6) with a casting mold (10) formed of broad-side plates (11) and narrow-side plates (13) and at which piston-cylinder units (16) are provided as actuators and support bearings. The position of the piston-cylinder units (16) is measured by field measurement devices (21), the measurement data are stored in a control (23) of the continuous casting machine (1) via fieldbus modules (22) as BUS signals and, after being processed, are fed back to the actuators as control signals. In order to acquire and process the measurement data locally at the continuous casting die (6), it is proposed that a respective hydraulic cylinder (16a) is connected to a valve stand (24) with a stationary terminal box (25) for the measurement signal lines and control signal lines (28) and that the terminal box (25) is connected to an axis regulator (30) from which the fieldbus module (22) supplies the signals to a memory-programmable control (31).

  • Publication number: 20060151144
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a continuous casting device for dynamically placing roller segments (13 to 17) against a cast bar (4) made of metal, particularly steel. The inventive continuous casting device comprises pairs of rollers (18) which are placed against each other in a position-controlled and pressure-controlled manner by means of piston-cylinder units (19), the hydraulic pressure being switched from position-controlled operation to pressure-controlled operation when a threshold pressure is reached. In order to extend the range of applications of the inventive method, said method is applied to roller segments (13 to 17) of continuous bloom and billet casting devices, said roller segments (13 to 17) being arranged in the cold bar zone, hot bar zone, or soft reduction zone.

  • Publication number: 20050045304
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for adjusting the feed opening of segments for continuous casting systems, especially position-controlled segments for slab and thin-slab continuous casting systems which comprise a strand guide (1) with segments (2) for a predetermined guidance of a cast strand using measuring and control signals. In order to provide an independent intelligent segment, the measuring and control signals are processed in at least one system unit (14?) directly on the respective segment (2) and the set values are fed to the segment (2?) by a superordinate control system (10) via a field bus (11), for example a profibus and a power supply (12?). Actual values are returned to the control system (10?) via the field bus (11) as the result of control or as a process status. The system units (14) present on the segment (21) are supplied with segment-specific data such as rigidity coefficients, roller diameter, control parameters, feed opening basic settings and adjustment quota.
