  • Patent number: 7448468
Abstract: The invention relates to an acoustically effective wheel house covering for vehicles, i.e. a wheel house covering which can reduce transmission of splash water noises in the passenger compartment of the vehicle and which can absorb the sound of rolling tires on a roadway, which wheel house covering comprises several layers of material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 2004
Date of Patent: November 11, 2008
    Assignee: Carcoustics Tech Center GmbH
Inventors: Hans Rudolf Czerny, Christian Gnädig, Herbert Vollmert, Albert Kallenberg
  • Patent number: 7445084
Abstract: The invention relates to a soundproof thermal shield (3), particularly for motor vehicles, comprising an aluminum support (4), a noise-absorbing layer (6) and an aluminum thermal covering (7). In order to make the inventive soundproof thermal shield easy to recycle while obtaining a great thermal shielding effect and noise-absorbing power, a permeable mat made of knitted aluminum is used as a noise-absorbing layer (6), said knitted aluminum being superimposed in several layers and pressed so as to form the permeable mat. The inventive thermal shield is thus made of a single material. Preferably, the support (4) is made of a microperforated aluminum sheet while the thermal covering (7) is preferably made from an aluminum film.

Date of Patent: November 4, 2008
    Assignee: Carcoustics Tech Center GmbH

  • Patent number: 6951263
Abstract: A sound absorber (A), especially for motor vehicles, comprising a layer (4) of absorption material, such as open-pored or optionally closed pored foamed material or a wood fiber composite, and a top layer (5) . The aim of the invention is to produce an absorber in such a way that said absorber is easy to produce and assemble and functions well. According to the invention, the top layer (5) for leading through a loom of cables (8) or the like is provided with a tubular recess (40) for leading through a loom of cables. Said recess (4) is provided with groove-like undercuts (42) on the outside.

  • Publication number: 20040256175
Abstract: The invention relates to a multilayered acoustic and thermal insulation part (1), in particular for motor vehicles, with at least one three-dimensionally structured foamed-plastic layer (2) and at least one nonwoven-fabric layer (3) lying adjacent thereto, whereby the foamed-plastic layer has a plurality of protrusions (4) and/or depressions (5). In order to be able to produce such an insulation part cost-effectively with a low weight, provision is made such that the nonwoven-fabric layer (3) is needled onto the foamed-plastic layer (2), and in such a way that the nonwoven-fabric layer lies contour-parallel next to the foamed-plastic layer and the protrusions (4) and/or depressions (5) of the foamed-plastic layer (2) are also impressed in the surface of the nonwoven-fabric layer (3) facing away therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6619724
Abstract: Motor-vehicle door (1) comprising an outer wall (2) and an inner wall (3), a cladding part (4) mounted on the inner wall (3), and an insulation element (5) disposed between the inner wall (3) and the cladding part (4), the insulation element (5) being formed as a foam layer and being clamped in at its edge between the cladding part (4) and the inner wall (3) in a clamping region (K), wherein the insulation element (5) is secured in an adhesive-free manner between the cladding part (4) and the inner wall (3) in the clamping region (K), forming a positively locking profiling.
