  • Publication number: 20060009580
Abstract: Fast crystallizing polyester compositions comprise a semicrystalline isotropic polyester, and specified amount of a liquid crystalline polymer, a solid particulate material, and a plasticizer for the isotropic polyester. These compositions generally crystallize faster and/or more extensively and/or at lower temperatures than the corresponding compositions without these ingredients present. The compositions are especially useful for molded and extruded parts.

  • Publication number: 20050260361
Abstract: Isotropic polyester compositions containing specified amounts of certain reinforcing fillers, a polymeric toughening agent, and a liquid crystalline polymer are especially useful for parts which have appearance surfaces and/or are painted. Such compositions are useful for items such as appliance parts, automotive body panels, power tool housing, and electronics housings. Processes for coating such compositions are also described.

  • Patent number: 6136445
Abstract: The invention is directed to a lacquer coating for polymer sheet and a method for applying the coated polymer sheet to a molded body. The lacquer contains a binder, a metal pigment, a color pigment, organic solvent in water wherein the binder includes a combination of hard and flexible resins. The ratio of these resin is adjusted so that the elastic-plastic behavior of the lacquer coating matches that of the plastic polymer sheet. In this fashion, the coated sheet can be deformed without causing substantial blistering or cracking of the coating on the polymer sheet.

  • Patent number: 5962143
Abstract: Coating composition for producing heat radiation-reflecting coatings. The invention relates to a coating composition for producing heat radiation-reflecting coatings that contains a binder, pigments and solvents and/or water. One or more black pigments or specially formulated colored pigments are used as pigments. The coating composition also contains finely dispersed silicic acid. The coating composition is particularly suitable for coating metal, wood or plastics, and may for example reduce heating effects in interiors of means of transportation.
