  • Publication number: 20240035304
Abstract: A reinforcement member for a door comprises a plate having a plurality of hooks extending on one face of the plate. The reinforcement member is shaped for mounting on a door stile or on a strike jamb of a door frame, on one side of a locking member opening. The reinforcement member is maintained on the door stile or on the strike jamb by insertion of the hooks in a material of the door stile or strike jamb. A set may include a pair of reinforcement members for placing on both sides of the locking member opening. Two members may be integrated as one piece via a pair of bridges, or integrated in a faceplate or a strike plate. Kits may include the reinforcement members and a back plate for mounting behind a door frame with screws.

  • Patent number: 11473352
Abstract: A multipoint door lock system comprises a door frame having a bolt opening and a secondary opening. A latch takes an activable position when the door is opened and a pre-armed position when the door is closed. A door-locking tip of the latch protrudes from the secondary opening of the door frame and into a secondary bore of the door when the door is closed. A transfer block moves from an inactive position to an active position upon insertion the deadbolt in the bolt opening. A biasing element causes a displacement of a translating member when the transfer block moves to the active position in the absence of a force sufficient to cause a compression of the biasing element. This action of the translating member locks the latch in its pre-armed position within the secondary bore.

  • Patent number: 10557294
Abstract: A multipoint door lock system for a door having on its edge a deadbolt and a secondary bore is disclosed. The system includes a door frame. A pivotable latch mounted in the door frame has a door-locking tip that enters the secondary bore of the door when the door is closed. Insertion of the deadbolt in a bolt opening of the door frame causes a lever to move from a resting position, displacing a translating member mounted in the door frame to an extended position. A distal end of the translating member enters a recess of the pivotable latch, locking the pivotable latch. The system may include a pair of translating members and a pair of pivotable latches having door-locking tips entering corresponding secondary bores of the door. A combination of the multipoint door lock system with the door is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9080379
Abstract: A window assembly comprising an upright window frame defining a frame opening, and an upper sash and a lower sash mounted in the window frame. The frame of the upper sash has its top corners pivotally mounted to the window frame. The frame of the lower sash has its bottom corners pivotally mounted to the window frame. The bottom rail of the upper sash is hingedly connected to the bottom rail of the upper sash. At least one of the upper and lower sashes is also slidably mounted to the frame jambs of the window frame, allowing the slidable sash to slide vertically within the window frame. The upper and lower sashes are movable between an extended closed configuration and a folded open configuration.

  • Publication number: 20110011002
Abstract: A window frame assembly includes an outer frame, a pivotable sash and a semi-fixed sash. The outer frame includes a horizontal cross framing member extending across the outer frame. The cross framing member has a top face and a bottom face and a groove extending along the top face. The pivotable sash is pivotable about the bottom rail of the outer frame. The semi-fixed sash is positionable above the cross framing member and includes a bottom rail provided with a main receiving channel in which a locking bar is inserted. The locking bar has a lip projecting downwardly from the bottom rail of the semi-fixed sash for engaging and extending into the groove of the horizontal cross-framing member. A locking mechanism cooperates with the lip and groove to retain the semi-fixed sash within the outer frame in a blocked position and allows its removal in an unblocked position.

  • Publication number: 20070186495
Abstract: A window frame assembly is disclosed having an outer frame, an articulated sash retaining a first glazing and a semi-fixed sash retaining a second glazing. The outer frame includes a pair of vertical frame jambs, a frame header, a frame sill, and a horizontal cross framing member extending across the outer frame. The cross framing member has a top face, a bottom face and a groove extending along the top face. The articulated sash includes an articulating engagement with the outer frame and is operable to open with respect to the outer frame. The semi-fixed sash is positionable above the cross framing member and includes a pair of vertical stiles, a top rail, a bottom rail and a lip projecting downwardly from the bottom rail for engaging the groove, and a locking mechanism co-operable with the lip and groove for retaining the semi-fixed sash within the outer frame.

  • Publication number: 20010047567
Abstract: A lockable hinge device of the type having a female flap and a male flap for attachment to structures to be hinged together and having interfittable knuckles defining together a passageway. A hinge pin is insertable into the passageway to pivotally connect the female flap to the male flap. The female flap has an outermost knuckle with a longitudinal slot extending through the entire length thereof. That slot is associated with a cut provided on the edge of the male knuckle adjoining the outermost female knuckle. The flaps are thus pivotable between an unlock position where the cut is in an aligned relationship with the slot and a lock position where the cut is in an unaligned relationship with the slot. On its side, the hinge pin has along its length a tooth projecting therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5704666
Abstract: The security device is suitable for use with any conventional dead bolt lock mounted on a door. It comprises a plate shaped to extend flat on the outer lateral surface of the doorframe. A security lever is mounted on the security device and is pivotable about a vertical axis adjacent to the plate. The security lever includes an inner arm extending on one side of the plate in the cavity of the doorframe in a position such that the dead bolt, in a lock position, abuts on the inner arm and causes the lever to pivot around its axis. The lever further includes an outer arm extending on another side of the plate shaped and sized to extend on the door behind the dead bolt, when the dead bolt has been brought to a lock position and has caused the lever to pivot around its axis. With a security device according to the present invention, the locking of the dead bolt lock is performed in only one step by simply engaging the door lock, thereby engaging the security device simultaneously.
