  • Publication number: 20010049111
Abstract: This invention relates to devices and methods for carrying out multi-step and multiplex immunoaffinity binding reactions in microscopic formats. In particular, these devices and methods allow the user to rapidly carry out multiple immunoassays in the same sample volume, and to rapidly resolve the results of those immunoassays in an electronically assisted format. • Patent number: 5524172
Abstract: A process of speech synthesis by the domain overlap-addition of elements stored in a dictionary as waveforms, comprises supplying a sequence of phoneme codes and respective prosodic information, and, for each phoneme, analyzing and synthesizing each phoneme, and then concatenating the synthesized phonemes. For each phoneme, two diphones are selected among the stored diphones and the presence of voicing is determined. For voiced phonemes, the respective waveforms of the two diphones constituting the phoneme are filtered by a window which is centered on a point of the selected waveform representative of the beginning of a pulse response of vocal cords to excitation thereof. The window has a width substantially equal to twice the greater of the original fundamental period or the fundamental synthesis period and has an amplitude progressively decreasing from the center of the window.

  • Patent number: 4447669
Abstract: Production of unsaturated hydrocarbons of 2-5 carbon atoms from methanol in the presence of zeolitic catalysts is effected by introducing gaseous methanol into a carrier gas, the concentration of the methanol in the entering mixture being between 5 and 60% by volume, and passing the mixture through a catalytic bed based on synthetic mordenite of the so-called de-aluminized type whose Si/Al ratio (atomic) is higher than 80, the flow rate of the methanol being between 1 and 5 liters of liquid methanol per liter of catalyst and per hour. The reaction is carried out at a temperature between 350.degree. and 550.degree. C., under a pressure which can reach 20 bars. The de-aluminized synthetic mordenite is prepared by subjecting the mordenite to a series of alternate acid and hydrothermic treatments, the said series commencing with an acid treatment and terminating with an acid treatment.
