Abstract: Acylcyanamides are disclosed having the formula ##STR1## in which the symbol R represents a straight-chain or branched chain alkyl or alkenyl group having from about 5 to about 21 carbon atoms, which group may be substituted by OH--, O--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --OH-- and/or O--R'-- groups, where the symbol R' represents an alkyl group having from 1 to about 4 carbon atoms and wherein M is a manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, zinc, cadmium, copper and/or lead.The compounds of the invention are useful as heat stabilizers for chlorine-containing polymers.

Abstract: The use is disclosed of at least one acylcyanamides of the formula ##STR1## in which the symbol R represents a straight or branched chain alkyl or alkenyl group having from 5 to 21 carbon atoms, such group being unsubstituted or substituted by a OH, O--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 OH, O--R' group or a mixture thereof, in which R' represents an alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; in which M is a monovalent or divalent metal cation; and in which n represents the valency of the metal cationto stabilize, thermoplastic molding compositions containing a homopolymer or a copolymer of vinylchloride or a mixture thereof. There is also disclosed heat stabilized thermoplastic molding compositions comprising polyvinylchloride, or a polymer of vinylchloride, and at least one acylcyanamide of Formula I.

Abstract: The present invention is for a process for the preparation of alkali metal salts of acyl cyanamides, especially those of aliphatic carboxylic acids by reacting carboxylic acid esters of lower alcohols with monoalkali metal cyanamides. The reaction results in a process which is simple and efficient and one which can be used in commercial scale batch or continuous operations.

Abstract: A detergent composition for hard surfaces containing a fatty acid cyanamide, a secondary (non-cyanamide) surfactant and/or a water-soluble polymer.

Abstract: Cyanamide compounds corresponding to the following formula ##STR1## in which R and R' each represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, cyclohexyl and benzyl, are used as activators for inorganic per compounds. They are preferably used in the mildly alkaline range at temperatures below 45.degree. C. Applications include the bleaching of textiles and hard surfaces, the oxidation of organic and inorganic intermediate products, and disinfection.

Abstract: A detergent composition for fabrics containing at least one synthetic surfactant from the group comprising anionic and nonionic surfactants and at least one builder from the group comprising condensed phosphates and phosphate substitutes, wherein at least one acylcyanamide salt anionic surfactant is present.

Abstract: Stable oil-in-water emulsions containing more than 60% by weight of non-aqueous phase may be prepared using water-soluble salts of monoacyl cyanamides, of which the acyl radical contains from 10 to 20 carbon atoms, as emulsifiers. The monoacyl cyanamides of C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 fatty acids are preferably used in the form of their sodium salts. The oil-in-water emulsions preferably contain from 70 to 95% by weight of non-aqueous phase and from 0.1 to 3% by weight of emulsifier.

Abstract: Mild-to-the-skin salts of anionic tensides of the sulfonate and sulfate type containing as the ion of opposite charge a highly basic protein aminolysate, and their use in washing, rinsing and cleansing compositions as well as in cosmetic preparations which extensively come into contact with the skin.

Abstract: Diperoxyalkanedioic acids and aromatic peroxycarboxylic acids are prepared by reacting a dialkanoic acid or an aromatic carboxylic acid with hydrogen peroxide in sulfuric acid and then producing a desensitizing agent for the peracid in situ by adding alkali metal hydroxide, alkali metal aluminate or an alkaline earth metal hydroxide so that the filtrate is free of sulfuric acid. The resulting salt coats the peracid and the product is desensitized and stable in storage.

Abstract: Water-in-oil emulsions containing from 2 to 20% by weight of polymeric emulsifiers comprising statistical copolymers composed of units of the general formulae ##STR1## in the molar ratio of (I) to (II) of 2:1 to 20:1, wherein X is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.1 is alkyl having 6 to 24 carbon atoms, and R.sub.2 is --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --OH, --CH.sub.2 --CH(OH)--CH.sub.3,--CH.sub.2 --CH(OH)--CH.sub.2 OH or --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --OH; 20 to 75% by weight of water; and the remainder to 100% by weight of conventional oily substances used in cosmetic emulsions.

Abstract: Drain-pipe cleaning compositions of the sodium hydroxide -- aluminum chip -- sodium nitrate type possess the added capability of dissolving or disintegrating proteinaceous fibrous material, without impairment of their capability of removing grease deposits, when they have a small content of a water-soluble glycoluril or a glycoluril derivative.The compositions are specially useful for freeing drain-pipes which are clogged by fatty deposits containing animal hair.

Abstract: Cosmetic emulsions containing from 2 to 20% by weight of polymeric emulsifiers capable of forming water-in-oil creams comprising a copolymer of N-vinylimidazole, an alkyl (meth)acrylate and optionally vinyl acetate; 20 to 75% by weight of water; and the remainder to 100% by weight of a cosmetically-acceptable oily substance.
