Publication number: 20240088654Abstract: A method for controlling voltage in a feeder of a distribution system having a plurality of DERs includes executing a feedback control using an integral controller. A voltage signal is generated using measured or estimated voltages at multiple locations along the feeder. An error is determined between the voltage signal and a defined voltage limit. The error is input to a controller including an integrator to generate a control action to counteract the error. The control action is distributed among at least some controllable DERs, from the plurality of DERs, that are capable of responding to the control action by generating actuation signals for absorbing reactive power from or injecting reactive power into the feeder, and/or for reducing active power or increasing active power in the feeder. The control action continues to increase until the voltage signal reaches the defined voltage limit, to thereby control voltage in the feeder.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Ulrich Muenz, Christian Heuer

Patent number: 11409928Abstract: A method simulates aspects of a system. The method includes: (a) creating models of a system, wherein each individual model describes a specific aspect of the system, (b) determining for each model an initial first data record containing specific data used only by the model and an initial second data record containing common data used by the model and at least one other model, (c) selecting a first model and a second model, (d) determining updated first and second data records on the basis of the initial first data record for the first model and the initial second data records, and (e) determining updated first and second data records for the second model based on the initial first data record for the second model, the updated second data record for the first model and the initial second data records for all of the models except for the first model.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2020Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Alexander Essl, Christian Heuer, Markus Schuler

Publication number: 20220201893Abstract: Heat exchanger, in particular for cooling power electronics, comprising an insulating element which separates a first fluid medium, which is in contact with a heat source, from a second fluid medium, which differs in at least one property from the first fluid medium and which is in fluid connection with a heat sink or is itself a heat sink, and a heat transfer element which has a higher thermal conductivity than the insulating element, wherein the insulating element comprises at least a first passage opening in which a first heat transfer element is arranged, wherein the heat transfer element is thermally connected both to the first fluid medium and/or the heat source, and to the second fluid medium and is fluidically sealed with respect to the insulating element by means of a sealing element.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2021Publication date: June 23, 2022Inventors: Christoph Bauer, Christian Heuer, Katharina Berberich, Peter Weiss

Patent number: 8836591Abstract: To improve the signal/noise ratio of a radio reception system intended for a vehicle, comprising multiple antennas having marked radiation characteristics with a directional effect, in each instance, it is proposed to orient the antennas in the vehicle at spatial sectors, with the proviso that their individual radiation characteristics supplement one another to produce a specific required radiation characteristic. For this purpose, the signals of the antennas are combined in an active combiner, with the interposition of amplifiers, and a sum signal is passed to a receiver by way of an output-side line.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2009Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Delphi Delco Electronics Europe GmbHInventor: Christian Heuer

Publication number: 20080248770Abstract: A reception system is proposed which is intended for receiving radio broadcasting in the AM and FM bands having an antenna coupled to an analog part on the input side, for receiving a complete reception band. The system also has a frequency selection module and a digital part that is set up to output a demodulated audio signal. The selection module comprises, as seen in the signal flow, of a filter, an attenuation element that can be regulated, a fixed amplifier, and a further filter. The output side band of the analog part provides a band limited and level-regulated signal that is sampled in an analog to digital converter at a frequency fs so that sub-sampling is employed for direct digitalization of the FM band. Sub-sampling is used in relationship to a useful band, wherein this useful band lies completely in the second Nyquist zone. Thus, in this case, fs>fmax and fs/2<fmin applies.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2008Publication date: October 9, 2008Inventors: Micha SCHULTZ, Oliver BUCHEL, Christian HEUER

Patent number: 5706015Abstract: The flat-topped antenna apparatus includes a GPS antenna, a mobile radio antenna, a common housing for the antennas mounted over a ground plane and coaxial cables (12,13,13a) acting as electrical supply lines for the antennas. The mobile radio antenna includes a metal sheet (6,6',6a) plane parallel to the ground plane and spaced at a distance (A,A') of 0.04 of an average operating wavelength of a mobile radio frequency band from the ground plane. The metal sheet is electrically connected at an input terminal (11) with an inner conductor (10) of one coaxial cable (13,13a) and also with the ground plane via a short circuit element (7,7a). The GPS antenna is above and rests on the mobile radio antenna and includes a dielectric plate (1,1a) provided with a metal layer (3) connected at an input terminal (4) with an inner conductor (10) of another (12) of the coaxial cables.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1996Date of Patent: January 6, 1998Assignee: Fuba Automotive GmbHInventors: Shun-Ping Chen, Manfred Burkert, Reinhard Berfelde, Christian Heuer
