  • Patent number: 10596329
Abstract: The present invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device for delivering set doses of a liquid drug. The injection device mechanism is encapsulated in a housing which also stores the cartridge containing the liquid drug. A needle cannula which is in liquid communication with the interior of the cartridge and which has a distal tip is shielded by a telescopically movable needle shield is used to inject the set dose. The needle cannula is preferably used for multiple injections and cleaned between subsequent injections. The drive mechanism further comprises a nut member engaging the piston rod and releasable coupled to the housing to operate as a pressure relief mechanism. The telescopically movable needle shield covering the distal tip of the needle cannula is formed to lock the nut member to the housing during injection.

  • Patent number: 10350369
Abstract: The present invention relates to an injection apparatus for injecting a pharmaceutical liquid drug into the skin of a user. The injection apparatus can be in form of an injection device carrying a needle cannula or in the shape of a needle assembly (10) attachable to an injection device. The outer shell of the injection apparatus is a protective shield (10) divided into different segments (10a, 10b). These segments are preferably spaced from each other in the longitudinal direction to move individually in the axial direction. Further, the segments are provided with tilting means (14, 15) which are activated to move neighboring segments (10a, 10b) apart upon relative axial movement of one or more segments (10a, 10b) whenever an uneven force is applied to the distal end of the shield.

  • Patent number: 10335536
Abstract: Disclosed is a medical injection device (1) comprising a needle assembly (20) having a cannula (21) and a telescopic shield (30) for covering the distal tip (23) in a no use situation. The telescopic shield further carries a cleaning reservoir (40) for cleaning the needle cannula between two subsequent injections. The cleaning reservoir is provided with an opening (43) connecting to an overflow reservoir (51/55) such that the cleaning liquid contained in the cleaning reservoir can retract and expand upon temperature changes and does not enter the needle lumen instead. In one example, the overflow reservoir is formed as a channel (51).

  • Patent number: 10213563
Abstract: The invention relates to an injection device for self-administration of doses of a liquid drug. The injection device carries a needle cannula (15) which is concealed by a telescopically movable shield (20). Further a stopping means (30) interconnects the shield with the helical rotatable scale sleeve (25) such that the shield can only be operated proximally when the scale sleeve is rotated away from its zero position. Once the scale sleeve returns to its zero position during expelling of the dose, the shield and the stopping means is allowed to slide distally and thus return to the locked position.

  • Patent number: 9233209
Abstract: The present invention relates to injection devices for injecting a medicament from a cartridge (600) through a needle cannula (510). The injection device (100) includes an actuator (330, 360) for driving a piston driver (310) and includes an end of stroke limiter (341, 611). When the piston driver (310) is arrested by the end of stroke limiter (341, 611) a shielding driver (370) is automatically triggered to actively shift the needle cannula (510) into a shielded state. The injection device may include a fluid dispensing interruption mechanism that automatically interrupts fluid flow when the piston driver has moved a predetermined stroke length. The injection device may also include a single pre-stressed spring acting exclusively in a linear compression mode or exclusively in a torsion mode and adapted to sequentially drive the device to enable fully automatic operation. The invention also relates to a method of sterilizing a needle cannula assembly.
