Patent number: 8328429Abstract: A radial anti-friction bearing, which has an outer and inner bearing race with an inner and outer raceway and cylinder rollers that roll on the raceways between the bearing races and which are held at equal distances to each other in the peripheral direction by a bearing cage. To prevent slip, the cylinder rollers are replaced by hollow rollers, which have a larger outside diameter and lower modulus of elasticity. The dimensions of the bearing races, cylinder rollers and hollow rollers are configured such that both the cylinder and hollow rollers initially have a defined radial bearing clearance in the non-installed state of the radial anti-friction bearing, and the pretension necessary for the continuous drive of the bearing cage is adjusted on the hollow rollers only once the radial anti-friction bearing has been installed, while simultaneously reducing the radial bearing clearance at the cylinder rollers.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2008Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Bernd Endres, Christian Hoffinger, Tobias Mueller, Witold Marek Smolenski

Patent number: 8210754Abstract: A radial roller bearing shafts in wind turbine transmissions, which includes an external bearing ring with an inner runway, an internal bearing ring arranged coaxial thereto which has an outer raceway and roller bodies on runways between bearing rings spaced circumferentially by a bearing cage and distributed uniformly on a circumference replaced by hollow rollers. To prevent slip, the hollow rollers have a greater diameter and lower modulus of elasticity ensuring, in a load-free state, continuous contact by the radial roller bearing with the bearing rings and continuous drive for the bearing cage and roller bodies at kinematic rotation speed. The hollow rollers have increased bending fatigue strength, and their inner envelope surfaces are formed by mechanical processing for further inherent compression stresses of at least ?200 MPa, superimposed on the hollow rollers maximum load stress along with the inherent compression stresses resulting from their heat treatment.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2007Date of Patent: July 3, 2012Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. Patent number: 8157452Abstract: A radial roller bearing for storing shafts in wind turbine transmissions, which has an external bearing ring with an inner runway, an internal bearing ring arranged coaxial thereto provided with an external runway, and a plurality of roller bodies that displace on the runways between the hearing rings held at regular intervals by a bearing cage. To prevent slip, the roller bodies are replaced by hollow rollers that have a greater diameter and a smaller elasticity module than the roller bodies ensuring, when the radial roller bearing is in the load-free state, permanent contact with the bearing rings, a permanent drive of the bearing cage and that the roller bodies have kinematic rotation. The hollow rollers have a higher bending strength, and their internal cover surface has a maximum surface roughness of Rz?25 ?m preventing localized peaks of tension, without any disaggregation in the axial direction.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2007Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Schaeffler KGInventors: Bernd Endres, Christian Hoffinger, Alban Kronenberger, Tobias Mueller

Publication number: 20090095495Abstract: The invention relates to a rotating, disc-shaped, agricultural tool which is mounted in a frame of a machine via a hub and a bearing arrangement. The bearing arrangement is distinguished by the fact that it is formed from two angular roller bearings which are set in back-to-back arrangement and whose raceways are arranged inclined at an angle to a bearing axis, wherein a space accommodation the angular roller bearings is defined on the outside in the radial direction by a hub body, of V-shaped design in its centre part and having contact surfaces, and on the inside in the radial direction by a supporting ring having spaced-apart contact surfaces on both sides in the axial direction, wherein the hub body is provided at an axial end with a fastening element for fastening the tool. In this way, a captive bearing unit is provided which is already provided with the appropriate prestress and which only needs to be connected to the agricultural tool and to the frame by the end user, i.e.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2007Publication date: April 16, 2009Applicant: SCHAEFFLER KGInventors: Markus Spohn, Erich Lunz, Jens Krueger, Christian Hoffinger
