  • Publication number: 20070286091
Abstract: A technique efficiently avoids transient routing disturbances in link state routing protocols with fragmented link state packets (LSPs) in a computer network. According to the novel technique, a link state router (LSR) specifies which of two or more links are to be advertised in each of two or more corresponding LSP fragments. The LSR advertises the states of the specified links in the corresponding LSP fragments to one or more other LSRs. In other words, each link of the LSR is assigned to a particular LSP fragment, and the state of the link is always to be advertised in that particular LSP fragment (i.e., no fragment wrapping). Upon receiving the LSP fragments, the other LSRs may update the correct link states based on the individual LSP fragments, i.e., without transient routing disturbances caused by fragment wrapping.

  • Patent number: 7143736
Abstract: An integrated engine compartment component for housing vehicle support system components in a vehicle engine compartment, which is divided by shared partition walls into a plurality of vehicle support system component-containing sections, each either forming or containing a component of a vehicle support system. In one embodiment, the integrated engine compartment component includes an air intake system filtration section containing a filter element, an air intake acoustic resonator section in two-way communication with an outlet of the air filtration section, and a washer fluid reservoir section feeding a windshield or headlight washer nozzle. An acoustic chamber may be integrated into the component outer surface, e.g., to use vehicle fluids stored therein to dampen noise and to provide additional fluid working volume.

  • Publication number: 20060260285
Abstract: A filter element, especially for filtering intake air for an internal combustion engine, which filter element is composed of a coiled filter, through which a flow of air passes axially, and which has an annular gasket on at least one end face, the annular gasket being connected to the filter element by a welded, glued, extruded or fused connection, such that the annular gasket is inserted into a suitably constructed receptacle in a filter housing and radially and/or axially positions the coiled filter. The annular gasket is arranged directly on the end face of the coiled filter and is pressed axially and/or radially into the receptacle of the housing.

  • Publication number: 20060227790
Abstract: A networking device such as a router may include, in one embodiment, a database storing a plurality of link state entries, and a cache operatively coupled with the database, the cache storing entries relating to the link state entries of the database. The networking device may also include a module for sending, over a network, packets including link state data, the module operatively coupled with the cache. In one example, the module accesses the cache to create one or more packets including link state data. Embodiments of the invention may be used for forming CSNP packets (complete sequence number packets) without the need for having to repeatedly walking a link state database in order to form the CNSP packets.

  • Publication number: 20060209685
Abstract: A system and method for bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) rate-limiting and automatic BFD session activation includes tracking a total bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) packet rate for a line card (LC) of the node, and rejecting operations associated with creation of a new BFD session that would cause the total BFD packet rate to exceed a predetermined maximum rate. The new BFD session is stored in a state on the node and the operations of the new BFD session are automatically retried at a time when doing so would not exceed the predetermined maximum rate. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Patent number: 5783231
Abstract: A mold closing device without cross-beam for a molding machine, e.g. injection molding or blow molding is disclosed. The mold closing device has a U-shaped machine frame with two arms defining a horizontal injection plane and a movable positioning device located within the first arm and moving along the injection plane; a moveable adapter plate including a vertical mold mounting surface, located on the positioning device; a fixed adapter plate with a vertical mold mounting surface on the second arm and on the injection plane; a first mold die-half is attached to the essentially vertical moveable adapter plate; a second mold die-half is attached to the essentially fixed adapter plate; and one of the arms includes a weakened cross-section for providing a controlled deformation of the machine frame resulting from the occurring closing and holding forces during operation of the molding machine and for maintaining the mold mounting surfaces vertical.
