  • Patent number: 7357820
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for converting fuel and air into reformate with a reformer which has a reaction space, a nozzle for supplying a fuel/air mixture to the reaction space, and a fuel feed for supplying fuel to the nozzle. In the invention, the air inlet area of the nozzle is provided with air guidance means which impart a swirl to the in-flowing air.

  • Patent number: 6793487
Abstract: A burner, in particular, for a motor vehicle supplementary or parking heater, for the burning of liquid fuel, in the presence of combustion air, has a combustion chamber (10), with a jet for the atomization of liquid fuel, arranged before said chamber. The jet has a Venturi tube (11) at the largest diameter end of the diffuser section thereof, opening into the combustion chamber (10), and the liquid fuel is introduced into the Venturi region which is at a low pressure when compared with the upstream end of the diffuser section (12), and through the inlet section (13) of which the air is pumped.

  • Publication number: 20040068934
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for converting fuel and air into reformate with a reformer (10) which has a reaction space (12), a nozzle (14) for supplying a fuel/air mixture to the reaction space (12), and a fuel feed (16) for supplying fuel to the nozzle (14). As claimed in the invention it is provided that in the air inlet area (18) of the nozzle (14) there are air guidance means (40) which impart a swirl to the inflowing air.

  • Publication number: 20030143506
Abstract: The invention relates to a burner, in particular, for a motor vehicle supplementary or parking heater, for the burning of liquid fuel, in the presence of combustion air, comprising a combustion chamber (10), with a jet for the atomisation of liquid fuel, arranged before said chamber. According to the invention, the jet comprises a venturi tube (11) with the largest diameter end of the diffuser section thereof, opening into the combustion chamber (10), into the low pressure region of which, when compared with the upstream end of the diffuser section (12), the liquid fuel is introduced and through the inlet section (13) of which the air is pumped.

  • Patent number: 5993191
Abstract: A heater, especially a motor vehicle heater which can be operated independently of the engine, with a burner which is supplied with fuel and air via a binary nozzle (2), a combustion chamber (1), and a multistage compressor (3, 4) for compressing the air. The entire mass flow of air necessary for combustion in the combustion chamber (1) is sent to at least one first compressor stage (3) for compression to a first pressure level, and the air mass flow compressed in this way is divided into a first component flow supplied directly to the combustion chamber (1), and a second component flow which is compressed in at least one second compressor stage (4) to a second pressure level and sent to the binary nozzle (2) as the fuel atomization air mass flow.
