  • Patent number: 8172250
Abstract: A ski including a structural unit, gliding structure, as well as a decorative and protective structure. The structural unit includes at least one lower reinforcement, at least one upper reinforcement, and an intermediate structure, or core, positioned between the upper reinforcement and the lower reinforcement. The ski has a longitudinally extending cambered shape such that, when the gliding structure is positioned on a flat surface, the ski rests on a shovel contact point and a tail contact point. The ski further includes a tension structure that exerts a tension force between a first anchoring, positioned longitudinally beyond the shovel contact zone, and a second anchoring, positioned on rearward of the shovel contact zone. The tension structure is positioned for most of its length beneath the decorative and protective structure, such tension structure being positioned for most of its length above the neutral axis of the ski, such as above the upper reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 6412807
Abstract: A gliding apparatus having a binding interface device connected to a ski, the ski including a front plate having a mounting zone provided for a front retaining element, a rear plate with a mounting zone provided for a rear retaining element, a connection between the two front and rear plates, each plate being extended along the length of each side edge of the ski by a lower wing, and there being a journal element for binding the wings to the ski, wherein the ski has, at least along a portion of its width, a localized increase in thickness in two longitudinally spaced zones for binding the interface device and corresponding to the affixing of the journal elements.

  • Patent number: 6406054
Abstract: A gliding board having a center core, a gliding sole, at least one lower reinforcing layer, and at least one upper reinforcing layer, the layers being positioned on both sides of the board. At least the upper reinforcing layer is formed of two strips that are different in nature each of which respectively extends, into the extension of the other from the central zone of the ski to each of its ends, the strips being different by the nature of the reinforcing material used or, in the case of two strips of resin reinforced with fibers, by the orientation of the fibers, or the basic weight of the fibers. In the case of a ski, the strips that are different in nature are superimposed in the central zone of the board and reinforce the zone of the ski where the mounting of retaining elements is provided.

  • Publication number: 20010042969
Abstract: An alpine ski including a body, front and rear tips, a running surface overlaid by at least one lower reinforcement layer, a core and at least one upper reinforcement layer. The core has a central member made of a hard material which extends over a portion of the length and width of the ski, and an edge made of a softer material that borders the core member on the sides, front and rear.

  • Publication number: 20010010420
Abstract: A ski equipped with an interface device having a plate that is kept raised above the upper surface of the ski with a front portion, a rear portion, and a non-extensible linkage. The ski has in its middle sliding skid zone a zone where its two lateral side edges are substantially parallel, each of the portions of the plate being connected to the ski via two lower wings that extend beneath the plate, both wings being pressed against the lateral side edges of the ski, and each wing being fixed to the ski via a single binding journal element. The invention also is directed to an interface device and a ski considered separately.

  • Patent number: 6182998
Abstract: A shock-absorbing device for a gliding board. The gliding board includes two laterally spaced apart transmission rods; at least one fixed connection making it possible to rigidly connect the first ends of both rods to the gliding board; and at least one casing adapted to be connected rigidly to the board at a certain distance from the fixed connection, which has an opening for the introduction of an inserted portion of each rod, and at least one housing containing a viscoelastic material which is in contact with the longitudinal sliding surface along at least a certain length of the insertable portion of each rod in the housing, the material being biased in shearing during the displacement of each rod portion in the housing. An object of the invention is to provide a device that absorbs both the flexional and torsional forces of the portions of a gliding board that are the most exposed to these phenomena.
