  • Publication number: 20230032960
Abstract: A converter includes a container and a supporting ring. A suspension device for the converter has a central structure fixed to the container. A first lateral structure is arranged at a first side of the central structure and fixed to a surface of the supporting ring. A second lateral structure is oppositely arranged. First and second sliding blocks are respectively connected with the first and second lateral structure. A first contact body is connected with the central structure by a first threaded bolt which engages a threaded hole in the central structure and a threaded hole in the first contact body. A second contact body is connected with the central structure by a second threaded bolt which engages a threaded hole in the central structure and a threaded hole in the second contact body. A distance element is arranged between the central structure and the first and/or second contact body.

  • Publication number: 20210381070
Abstract: A method for operating a converter and a support device for the converter. The converter is rotatably or tiltably mounted and rotatably coupled in a transmission via support pins in the support device. The transmission is supported permanently on a base via a torque support. In order to reduce costs for a corresponding support device and, simultaneously, so as to be able to better control the torque exerted by the converter on the transmission, the time-variable actual torque MIst exerted by the converter on the transmission is controlled to a predefined target torque MSoll.

  • Patent number: 8820699
Abstract: A torque support for a converter tilting drive mounted on a shaft journal. The supports are provided on the gear housing that accommodates the shaft journal to be driven. The supports support the gear housing on the structure carrying the converter. To this end, the supports are embodied in each case as dual action hydraulic piston-cylinder units that are independently anchored on the structure in an articulated manner.

  • Patent number: 8007711
Abstract: In a method for operating a converter (1), in which the converter (1) is mounted in a carrying ring (3) by means of carrying journals (2), a gear mechanism (4) is mounted in a floating manner on the carrying journals (2), the converter (1) is configured, as a result, such that it can tilt about its horizontal axis and the gear mechanism (4) is connected rigidly to a pedestal (6) by a torque support (5), the torque support (5) connects the gear mechanism (4) to the pedestal (6) during the tilting operation of the converter (1), and the torque support (5) is released from the pedestal (6) or from the gear mechanism (4) or from both during operation of the converter (1).
