  • Patent number: 9428727
Abstract: The present application describes an optimized medium for growth of mammalian cells as well as polypeptide production. The cell culture medium is characterized by a Sow ratio of sodium to potassium ions, it further relates to the method of producing polypeptides using such cell culture media. Sn another aspect, the method of polypeptide production can also comprise a temperature shift and/or a pH-shift to further optimize growth and product yield.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 25, 2011
Date of Patent: August 30, 2016
    Assignee: Novartis AG
Inventors: Christian Leist, Petra Meissner, Jörg Schmidt
  • Patent number: 8814420
Abstract: The invention proposes a system for gravimetrically combining individual bulk material components in one or a plurality of transport container(s). The system comprises a plurality of storage containers for storing the bulk material components equipped with one dosing unit each in order to transfer a respective bulk material component into the transport container. Each of the storage containers is associated with a weighing means disposed below each storage container. The transport containers can be moved between the dosing units of the supply containers along a guidance and cooperate with the weighing means.

Date of Patent: August 26, 2014
    Assignee: AZO Holding GmbH
Inventors: Frank Pahl, Helmut Bauer, Christian Leist
  • Patent number: 8765413
Abstract: This invention relates to a cell culture process for the production of polypeptides in mammalian CHO cells characterized by one or more temperature and pH shifts which are adjusted in respect to their timing and step size to reduce cell death, increase product yield and improve product quality.

  • Patent number: 8573267
Abstract: A method for substantially contamination-free transport of pourable bulk product from a dosing unit into a container is proposed, wherein the dosing outlet of the dosing unit is connected in a detachable manner with the receiving inlet of the container, the dosing outlet and the receiving inlet are opened, and the bulk product is transported into the container from the dosing unit via its dosing outlet and via the receiving inlet of the container. The receiving inlet of the container is disposed at the dosing unit by means of an elastic joining element to prevent transfer of forces between the dosing unit and the container during the dosing process. A device for carrying out such a method is also proposed.
