  • Patent number: 11915539
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for student accountability systems. School buses can be equipped with a bus system that executes a driver application. Students carry student identification (ID) systems that identify the students to the bus system, which in turn reports a geographic location to a student accountability system. The bus system is configured to permit rapid boarding and easy usage by drivers. The student accountability system provides a parent portal and an administrator portal to monitor the students and provide other useful functions.

  • Patent number: 11537693
Abstract: In one approach, a method includes: receiving a login event input from a user, the login event input being associated with a session of the user logging into an account; accessing a machine learning model; and authenticating, with the machine learning model, the user for the account, based at least in part on the login event input. In examples, the login event input comprises one or more items of biometric data associated with the user, an item of the one or more items of biometric data associated being generated by interaction of the user with an input device for logging into the account, and the interaction communicating a login credential of the user. In examples, an item of the one or more items of biometric data associated with the user is keyboard event-related biometric data, or mouse event-related biometric data.

  • Patent number: 9682311
Abstract: In various embodiments, the gaming system and method disclosed herein provides a primary game in which the gaming system provides monetary awards to a player and a secondary game in which the gaming system provides non-monetary skill units to the player. In one such embodiment, the gaming system initiates the play of the skill-based secondary game in response to a triggering even associated with a primary game of the gaming system, and forms a score for the player based on zero, one or more inputs made by the player during the play of the skill-based secondary game. The gaming system determines an amount of non-monetary skill units to provide the player based on the score, and provides the player with the non-monetary skill units. The player redeems any amount of non-monetary skill units for one or more virtual goods offered via a virtual marketplace.

  • Patent number: 7120173
Abstract: Peak power of a coherent light beam generated by a laser and injected into an optical fiber is chosen so that the spectrum of the light beam emanating from the fiber, for illuminating particles, includes Raman lines.

  • Publication number: 20040257450
Abstract: According to the invention, the peak power of the coherent light beam generated by the laser (1) and injected into the optical fiber (2) is chosen so that the spectrum of the light beam (13) emanating from the latter, in order to illuminate the particles (8), includes Raman lines.

  • Patent number: 6813020
Abstract: A device for determining the values of a parameter of particles, especially of water droplets, includes a measuring element having a measuring region that is intended to accommodate the particles. An illumination device illuminates the measuring region with a light beam, and an image acquisition device, having a camera, acquires an image of the measuring region illuminated by the illumination device. A processing device determines the values of the parameter from the image acquired by the camera. To determine the values of the parameter, the illumination device produces point illumination using a light beam whose light rays are focused on an objective optic of the image acquisition devices.

  • Patent number: 5874671
Abstract: An instrumented device for the study of airflow over a structure (10), comprises a support (16) forming a thin plate (24) adapted to be applied and shaped to the contour of a predetermined region of the structure. Connection structure (22) cements a portion of an inner surface of the support to that predetermined region, leaving a space (36) of low height between an inner surface of the plate (24) of the support and that predetermined region. This height is substantially equal to the thickness of said cementing structure. Instrumentation (18) is connected to the support, a portion (28) of this instrumentation and wire connections (20) therefor being disposed in that space (36), whereby the device is adapted to form a skin on the structure.

  • Patent number: 5537869
Abstract: In order to study the aerodynamic phenomena occurring around structures of an aircraft, particularly during ground and flight tests, an automated multichannel pressure measuring system is proposed. This system, which is entirely contained in a very small box or case (10), incorporates the pressure transducers (14) and processing software (54) for the approximate values supplied by the transducers. A multichannel or multiway valve (32) places the system in a blowing or blasting state purging the circuits in the case or rain. In this state, it is possible to check the satisfactory operation of the transducers and carry out their calibration. Therefore, the frequency with which recalibration of the system has to take place in the laboratory is greatly reduced. Advantageously, the transducers (14) are temperature-controlled.
