Patent number: 11985459Abstract: A mounting system for mounting a loudspeaker to a substrate includes a mounting assembly having an elongated screw, a support member received on and movable along the screw, and a mounting arm rotatably connected to the support member and having a resting position and a working position. A guide housing receives the mounting assembly with the screw extending longitudinally therethrough and includes a wall structure with an open front side and a cap at a top portion of the wall structure. In the resting position, the support member is positioned along the screw at least partially received within the cap and the mounting arm is substantially contained within the wall structure. In the working position, the support member is positioned along the screw to be outside of the cap and the mounting arm is spring-biased away from the screw and extends outwardly through the front side of the wall structure.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2020Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Assignee: Harman International Industries, IncorporatedInventors: An Duc Nguyen, Christian Manuel Garcia, Larry Paul Brown, Chris N. Publication number: 20230188893Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for generating audio for a speaker system. The technique includes receiving an audio input signal, a first location associated with the audio input signal, a first geometric model of the speaker system, and a second geometric model of one or more surfaces in proximity to the speaker system. The technique also includes generating a plurality of output signals for a plurality of speaker drivers in the speaker system based on the audio input signal, the first location, and the first and second geometric models. The technique further includes transmitting the plurality of output signals to the plurality of speaker drivers, wherein the plurality of speaker drivers emit audio that corresponds to the plurality of output signals, the emitted audio rendering a sound corresponding to the audio input signal at the first location.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2021Publication date: June 15, 2023Inventors: John COMBS, Christian Manuel GARCIA, Daniel Timothy PYE, Jason RIGGS

Patent number: 11564032Abstract: A speaker system is provided with a housing adapted to mount to a support. A driver is supported by the housing and arranged to project sound about a first axis extending at an offset angle relative to a longitudinal axis extending from the housing. A waveguide extends from the driver to define a cavity extending along the first axis. The waveguide includes a first segment formed at a first angle relative to the longitudinal axis, and a second segment formed at a second angle relative to the longitudinal axis, wherein the second segment is arranged opposite the first segment and the second angle is greater than the first angle to collectively provide an asymmetrical sound pattern in a first plane.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2021Date of Patent: January 24, 2023Assignee: HARMAN INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIES, INCORPORATEDInventors: Christian Manuel Garcia, An Duc Nguyen, James Garrett

Patent number: 9512724Abstract: A method for repairing a flange of a rotor, to a transverse surface of which a disk of a fan in an upstream turbo-fan engine is attached. The flange includes, in a form of a ring, openings for connecting to the disk and intermediate discharge openings. Wear marks are formed by friction of the fan blades on the flange. The method includes machining spot facings onto the flange, in areas with wear marks; placing anti-wear slugs in the discharge openings that can be covered by the blades during friction; and the spot facings extend between the connection openings and are circumferentially limited by clamping surfaces of the connection between the disk and the flange.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2013Date of Patent: December 6, 2016Assignee: SNECMAInventors: Michael Delapierre, Eric Gvozdenovic, Christian Manuel Planas, Patrick Jean-Louis Reghezza

Patent number: 6212745Abstract: A method for setting stones in the surface of a jewel produced by electroforming, comprising the following steps: producing a base having external shapes and dimensions with a thickness close to the gold film forming the wall of the jewel to be produced and having seats for receiving the stones; depositing on the base, before setting the stones, a protective coating, then a thin gold film; setting the stones in the seats; then depositing a second thicker gold film; and finally extracting or removing the base and the protective coating. The invention is characterized in that when the base is being produced, at least one passage is provided perpendicular to each seat, capable of communicating, once the stone is set, the space between it and the bottom of its seat with outside, so as to enable the depositing of the second gold film to reach the space. The invention is useful for jewels produced by electroforming.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1999Date of Patent: April 10, 2001Assignee: PGCM Conception, Societe Civile d'InventeursInventors: William Pierre, Michel Charrier, Daniel Grellier, Christian Manuel
