  • Patent number: 8242728
Abstract: One embodiment relates to modernizing a technical system, in particular a producing system with the aim of obtaining economic and technical advantages. The technical system comprises at least one drive mechanism provided with at least one drive motor powered by a power element, a torque controller controlling the power element and a speed controller prescribing the nominal value of the torque (Msoll) for the torque controller. When the determination of the nominal value of the torque (Msoll) for the torque controller by the speed controller is deactivated, a standard drive element is available. The drive element comprises at least one speed controller, a torque controller and a power element. The nominal value of the torque (Msoll) of the torque controller of the drive motor is determined by a speed controller of the standard drive element.

  • Patent number: 7805206
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for increasing the capacity of an installation used to carry out an industrial process in an economical and sustainable manner. Said method consists of the following steps: process variables relevant to the capacity of the installation are determined; said process variables are monitored during variable operating conditions of the installation; and a very small control reserve of the control loops of the installation is established on the basis of the monitored process variables.

  • Patent number: 7606629
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for determining the causes of failures in industrial processes, in particular continuous processes with continuous webs, e.g. paper, textiles, plastic or metal films. Equipment and machines for industrial processes, in particular processes with continuous webs are frequently very complex combinations of drive components and automation components. As a result process failures are very difficult to detect and evaluate, among other reasons because they generally manifest themselves at different points in the equipment or machine. The present invention provides a monitoring system the monitors and measures output signals throughout the industrial process to determine if any failures will or may occur and provide data analysis to determine what caused the failure be means of the online monitoring.

  • Patent number: 7251585
Abstract: Method, computer system, and computer-readable media for formulating potential measures to increase the reliability of a technical system. The method allows at least one evaluation aid with predefined evaluation criteria, the evaluation criteria serving to evaluate measures of the technical system taking place in the context of predictive maintenance. A user, e.g. an auditor, is requested to specify an evaluation and a weighting respectively for each of the evaluation criteria. A weighted evaluation is determined from the evaluations and the weightings with the assistance of a predefined weighting rule. The weighted evaluation serves to identify a list of measures with the most important measures. The method allows an efficient evaluation of the maintenance measures practiced by a system operator and thus the formulation of potential measures for improving the reliability of the technical system.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for formulating potential measures to increase the reliability of a technical system The method according to the invention provides for at least one evaluation aid with predefined evaluation criteria, the evaluation criteria serving to evaluate measures of the technical system taking place in the context of predictive maintenance. A user, e.g. an auditor, is requested to specify an evaluation and a weighting respectively for each of the evaluation criteria. A weighted evaluation is determined from the evaluations and the weightings with the assistance of a predefined weighting rule and then output, said weighted evaluation serving to identify a list of measures with the most important measures. The method according to the invention allows an efficient, objective and transparent evaluation of the maintenance measures practiced by a system operator and thus the formulation of potential measures for a sustainable increase in the reliability of the technical system.
