  • Publication number: 20230182266
Abstract: A superabrasive element includes a substrate and a superabrasive table bonded to the substrate, the superabrasive table including a polished surface having a polished finish, the polished surface extending over at least a central, apical region of the superabrasive table, and an unpolished surface including an unpolished finish, the unpolished surface surrounding a majority of the polished surface. A method of manufacturing a superabrasive element includes providing a superabrasive element having a substrate and a superabrasive table bonded to the substrate and polishing at least a central, apical region of the superabrasive table to form a polished surface, without polishing an unpolished surface of the superabrasive table, the unpolished surface surrounding a majority of the polished surface.

  • Patent number: 8688269
Abstract: An apparatus for teaching a gripping device is disclosed. The gripping device includes an arm. The arm has a free end that can be freely moved in an operating region and includes a gripper. The gripper includes at least one, preferably two pairs of spaced apart gripping tongs consisting of an electrically conductive material. A control unit is included electrically connected to the tongs or a measuring body. A detecting means detects current in a control line. The apparatus uses a reference component having three reference surfaces to determine a reference coordinate system. By pre-specifying several points on the reference component that are to be approached, an automated determination of the position and alignment of a chuck or pallet can be utilized. A highly accurate analysis of a current signal is used by the apparatus for teaching the gripping device.

  • Publication number: 20120065777
Abstract: A method for operating a gripping device (10) is provided. This method is used for positioning blanks (18) in a working position for the placement of said blanks in a clamping chuck (35). For this, a deviation function (F) is determined at the time of initialization of the gripping device (10), said deviation function stating only—for the working position—the load-dependent deviation of the position of the blank (18) from its desired nominal position relative to the position measured in the gripping device. During operation, while the gripping device (10) is positioning the blank (18) in the working position, it is possible to determine a deviation value (?za) with the use of the deviation function (F) and to correct the position measured in the gripping device (10) with the deviation value (?za), so that an accurate positioning of the blank (18) is possible.
