  • Publication number: 20150265779
Abstract: A fluid transfer device such as a syringe may include a fluid chamber in communication with a male connector tip. The male connector tip is tapered to form a friction fit when inserted in a corresponding female hub. A disconnecting member, e.g., in the form of a lever member has a front surface moveable along the male connector tip between a first position proximal to the fluid chamber and a second position spaced from the first position towards a distal end of the male connector tip so as to release the friction fit. A catch is arranged to catch the female hub after it has been released from the friction fit by the lever member moving towards the second position. The catch may be released when the lever member pivots back towards the first position under the resilient bias of a spring tongue.

  • Publication number: 20150257836
Abstract: A device (230) for shielding at least part of a limb from the view of a wearer of the device (230) which comprises a shield (232) with a first configuration in which it is substantially planar and a second configuration in which it has a three-dimensional shape. The shield (232) comprises one or more hinge lines (238), enabling it to be converted from the first configuration to the second configuration. The device also comprises an attachment portion (234) with one or more elongate members (236) to attach around a limb of a wearer in use. An edge portion (239) of the shield (232) may comprise an outer edge opposite the hinge line (238) that is at least partially divided into independently moveable sections such that the edge portion (239) can be flexed to help convert the shield (232) into a three-dimensional configuration.

  • Publication number: 20150190625
Abstract: A fluid transfer device may include a fluid transfer tip that has a tapered friction fitting for a corresponding hub and an additional means for gripping a hub in a locked position when connected to the fluid transfer tip by the friction fitting. A disconnecting member is provided with a resilient bias that causes it to engage the gripping means and thereby assist in holding the hub in the locked position. The disconnecting member is moveable relative to the fluid transfer tip and against the resilient bias so as to release engagement of the gripping means, move the hub out of the locked position provided by the gripping means and release the hub from the friction fitting.
