  • Patent number: 12312797
Abstract: Disclosed herein is the fabrication and implementation of prefabricated volumetric construction modules that include transitioning members that adjust between vertical support columns and structural trusses via lateral joints. Modification of vertical support columns to trusses enables open space configurations in volumetric construction. Each volumetric module includes a habitation zone and a truss zone. Folding or transitioning a vertical support column at the lateral joint positions a lower region of the support column from the habitation zone into the truss zone. The vertical support columns are transitioned in a specified order where within a given row of vertical support columns. Beginning from a first interior column on an edge-positioned transforming volumetric module, workers fold half of the vertical support columns of the given row into the truss arrangement in a first direction toward the edge-positioned transforming volumetric module.

  • Publication number: 20240211035
Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that adjust a focus of a camera based on a distance associated with a determined user attention. For example, an example process may include obtaining sensor data from one or more sensors in a physical environment. The process may include determining at least one gaze direction of at least one eye based on the sensor data. The process may further include determining a distance associated with user attention based on a convergence determined based on an intersection of gaze directions of the at least one gaze direction, or a distance of an object in a 3D representation of the physical environment based on the at least one gaze direction. The process may further include adjusting a focus of a camera of the one or more sensors based on the distance associated with the user attention.

  • Publication number: 20230341644
Abstract: Various examples are provided related to optical ground wire (OPGW) designs and mitigation of impulse effects. In one example, an optical ground cable includes one or more inner optical fiber; and a shield surrounding the one or more inner optical fiber. The shield includes a shield material have a skin-depth less than a skin-depth of aluminum which can improve rejection of intrusive signals and communications capabilities. Conductivity of the shield material can be greater than the conductivity of aluminum and permeability of the shield material can be greater than the permeability of aluminum.

  • Patent number: 10698724
Abstract: A distributed computing system includes several partitions that each contain a separate copy of shared resources that receive modifications via behaviors and transactions specified by a user. The transaction manager performs the requested behavior or transaction in parallel on each copy of the shared resources as indicated by a resource ID. This allows the distributed computing system to operate in parallel without competing for the same shared resource, avoiding deadlocks and race conditions. If a behavior or transaction fails while modifying a copy of a shared resource, the transaction manager prevents the behavior or transaction from modifying the remaining copies and preempts results from the failed behavior or transaction. The transaction manager reestablishes a consistent state across shared resources by rolling back the failed behavior or transaction, reverting each copy of the shared resources to its state prior to executing the behavior or transaction.

The system further includes a first ring, the first ring attached to a second end of the leash section. The system further includes a second ring, the second ring located along the leash section, approximately two thirds of a length of the leash section from the second end, the second ring sized to not fit through a first aperture in the first ring. The system further includes a third ring, the third ring located along the leash section, approximately one third of the length of the leash section from the second end, the third ring sized to not allow a stop portion of the attachment mechanism to pass through a second aperture in the third ring.
