  • Patent number: 11219941
Abstract: A permanent mold has a base made of metal. The base has a plurality of first mold portions, which are mutually spaced along a longitudinal axis and which are designed to shape a bearing tunnel of a crankcase. Second mold portions are arranged on the first mold portions and consist of a mold material.

  • Publication number: 20170174163
Abstract: A method is described for operating a vehicle, including the following steps: ascertaining a collision probability for the vehicle, ascertaining an effectiveness parameter assigned to a restraint system of the vehicle, which is a measure of how effectively the restraint system may protect a vehicle occupant in the event of a collision assigned to the collision probability, and carrying out at least one injury-mitigating measure depending on the ascertained effectiveness parameter in order to mitigate an occupant injury during a collision. Also described are a corresponding device and a computer program.

  • Publication number: 20160179195
Abstract: A method for operating a head-up display of a vehicle, in particular of a motor vehicle, in which at least one information item is presented by the head-up display and the method encompassing the following: ascertaining the gaze direction of at least one eye of a driver; checking whether the gaze of the at least one eye of the driver is directed toward the head-up display; and modifying the presentation of the head-up display, in order to improve the readability of the at least one information item, if the gaze of the at least one eye of the driver is directed toward the presentation of the head-up display.

  • Publication number: 20120296528
Abstract: A steering wheel and a driver assistance system, which make possible an improved control of safety functions, driving functions and/or convenience functions of a vehicle. The steering wheel, in this context, has a plurality of touch-sensitive and which may be pressure-sensitive sensors on a steering-wheel rim. These sensors are to provide a grasp information signal, which indicates information on a contact surface, a position and/or a holding force of driver's hands on the steering-wheel rim, for instance, on a CAN bus. A driver assistance system uses these grasp information signals to adapt safety functions, driving functions and/or convenience functions, such as an automatic emergency brake assistant, power steering, a pedestrian avoidance assistant or a lane departure warning system in an adapted manner to the currently prevailing grasping type of the driver at the steering-wheel rim.

  • Publication number: 20120166045
Abstract: A control unit has an ABS control algorithm. For use on motorcycles, it is advantageous if the control unit also includes an airbag algorithm for actuating an airbag, a maximum of two but preferably only a single acceleration sensor for detecting a collision, and a maximum of two but preferably only a single ignition stage which generates a signal for igniting an airbag when a collision is detected.

  • Publication number: 20070231762
Abstract: An injector (4) for liquid fuel (6a) and a premix burner, in particular for combustion chambers of gas turbines which burner includes an injector (4) of this type, includes a swirl nozzle (14) which is surrounded by a shielding-air passage (11) and has an enlarged cross section of flow in the region of a nozzle-internal swirl generator (12) for the liquid fuel (6a), with this enlarged cross section of flow being reduced again toward an exit opening of the swirl nozzle (14). The injector allows the premix burner to operate with a reduced admission pressure and a high atomization quality.

  • Publication number: 20070105061
Abstract: What are described are a multiple burner arrangement and a method for operating such a multiple burner arrangement with a multiplicity of individual burners which are designed as premix burners and which serve for firing a combustion chamber of a thermal engine and each have a swirl space into which combustion supply air and fuel can be introduced so as to form a swirl flow, the swirl flow forming downstream of the premix burner, within the combustion chamber, a backflow zone in which a burner flame is formed.
