  • Publication number: 20230329517
Abstract: A dishwashing appliance includes a tub defining a wash chamber and a door rotatably mounted to the tub. The door is configured to rotate between an open position and a closed position. A user interface mounted on the door, and a controller is in signal communication with the user interface. A pulley is mounted to the tub and a cord is coupled to the door. The cord configured to rotate the pulley when the door is rotated between the open position and the closed position. A magnet is mounted to the pulley. The magnet is configured to rotate with the pulley as the door is rotated. A sensor is mounted to the tub proximate the pulley. The sensor is configured to detect the position of the magnet, and the controller is configured to disable the user interface based at least in part on the position of the magnet.

  • Publication number: 20060234578
Abstract: A fireproof composite yarn includes between 80 and 90 percent by weight of flameproof fibers containing a polymeric material based on polyvinyl alcohol, between 10 and 30 percent by weight of at least one type of thermostable fibers made of a non-flammable material. The invention also relates to a fabric having at least one woven or knitted textile layer that is made of such a yarn.

  • Publication number: 20060201128
Abstract: A fireproof composite yarn includes: -flameproof fibers at a quantity of more than 40 percent relative to the total weight of the yarn, the fibers being made of a crystalline or semicrystalline polymeric material; -hydrophilic fibers at a quantity ranging between 10 and 45 percent relative to the weight of the flameproof fibers, the hydrophilic fibers being made of an infusible material; -thermostable fibers at a quantity ranging between 4 and 50 percent relative to the total weight of the yarn, the thermostable fibers being made of a non-flammable material. The invention also relates to a fabric having at least one woven or knitted textile layer made of such a yarn.

  • Patent number: 5543214
Abstract: A thermo-adhesive product is formed from a backing fabric with a thermo-adhesive layer deposited on its surface. In a preferred embodiment, the thermo-adhesive layer is deposited in a discontinuous fashion as dots. The thermo-adhesive layer is formed of polymers which are non-tacky at ambient temperatures but which become tacky and plastic at a first elevated temperature range which is beneath the critical temperature for the polymeric composition, and which become thermo-setting at a second elevated temperature range which is above the critical temperature. In alternate preferred embodiments, the thermo-adhesive compositions can be cross-linked under the influence of radiation from an electron beam or UV radiation.

  • Patent number: 5439733
Abstract: The present invention relates to a breathable and impermeable insert intended for use in the clothing industry. In a preferred embodiment, the insert comprises a microporous polymer foam layer embedded in a textile substrate. The foam layer is mechanically reinforced by a textile substrate, and, due to the flexibility of the foam, the textile retains most of its feel and flexibility. The foam is water vapor permeable, but liquid water impermeable. Methods for easily producing breathable textile inserts are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5236769
Abstract: A fire-resistant composite lining for a garment includes a textile layer of heat-stable fibers and a waterproof and breathable film. The film being spot-bonded onto a face of the textile layer and intended to be on the external surface of the garment. The lining is reinforced non woven material associated with the textile layer by needle-punching and ultimately constitutes the internal surface of the garment.

  • Patent number: 5098770
Abstract: A composite textile is formed of a first non-woven needled textile layer, a second microporous film layer, and a discontinuous adhesive layer between the first and second layers to fix the first and second layers together. The first non-woven needled textile layer has a thermo-stable fiber basis, while the second microporous film layer is inflammable and is impermeable to liquid, but permeable to water vapor.Protective clothing is formed having an outer textile layer and a lining with an insert mounted loosely between the outer textile layer and lining. The insert comprises a composite textile as described above with the first layer of the composite textile facing towards the lining. The composite textile can also be used in a seat with the composite textile placed between an outer textile layer and the foam elements of the seat, with the first layer of the composite textile facing towards the foam elements of the seat.
