Abstract: A pre-paid financial system using a common interface system is provided. Transactions are initiated on a number of different interfaces via a secure network or an unsecured network to a back-end system. The system maintains accounts funded via a pre-paid funding system. Transfers are made between users of the system after funding of the accounts is completed. The technology includes receiving a plurality of transaction requests from at least a first transaction interface and a second transaction interface via the insecure network. Each transaction interface receives user input including transaction instructions and outputs the instructions in a transaction request via the insecure network in a common syntax. The transaction command, transaction parameters, user token and authentication token are parsed and each transaction request authenticated. The request is evaluated against a set of permissible transaction rules and if the transaction request is permitted, the transaction is executed.
