  • Patent number: 5181929
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a femoral prosthesis consisting of a metal rod having a male frustoconical end portion and a femoral head, or ceramic ball, having a frustoconical blind recess, assembled by means of a conical sleeve fitment. The ceramic ball is formed of material having an improved flexion breakage modulus and an improved elasticity modulus.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 23, 1990
Date of Patent: January 26, 1993
    Assignee: Ceramiques Techniques Desmarquest
    Inventors: Christian Prats, Pierre Vivier
  • Patent number: 4964869
Abstract: An assembly of a ceramic head fixed to a rod, which assembly is a component of a hip prosthesis that has improved distribution of the stresses transferred from the rod to the ceramic head. The ceramic head includes a blind recess, generally in the shape of a truncated cone, into which the male end of the rod is nested, in which this nesting together is provided without play between the ceramic head and the end of the rod in only a portion of the depth of the recess, while in the remaining portion of the recess there is no contact between the ceramic head and the end of the rod.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 28, 1989
Date of Patent: October 23, 1990
    Assignee: Ceramiques Techniques Desmarquest
    Inventors: Michel Auclair, Christian Prats
  • Patent number: 4332170
Abstract: A sub-assembly for detecting leaks of a liquid metal circulating in a component of a circuit such as a conduit or a valve or contained in a storage means such as a reservoir, comprising electrically conductive elements arranged inside an electrically insulating material, wherein said insulating material consists of a rigid shell the inner surface of which is adapted to the outer surface of said component, while open grooves are formed on the inner surface of the shell for receiving said electrically conductive elements, the grooves having a widened portion remote from the inner surface of the shell, receiving the electrically conductive elements, and a portion of reduced width located between the widened portion and the inner surface of the shell and maintaining the electrically conductive elements at a spacing from said inner surface.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 29, 1980
Date of Patent: June 1, 1982
Assignees: Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique, Carbonisation Entreprise et Ceramique (C.E.C.)
