  • Publication number: 20240175554
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite pressure vessel (1) with a liner (2) made of plastic, at least one end boss (4) arranged in the region of the opening of the pressure vessel (1) and an outer layer (3) of a fiber composite material. The end boss (4) has a through hole (5) and is used for connecting a valve. The liner (2) has an axial tubular neck portion (14) with a mouth at its axial end, which extends into the end boss (4) and is provided on its outer side with an external thread (15) and a thread-free region. The external thread is screwed into an internal thread of the through hole (5) of the end boss (4). To optimize sealing, an inner wall of the end boss (4) in contact with the thread-free region of the neck portion (14) has at least two annular grooves (10, 11) arranged at an axial distance from one another, wherein two sealing rings (16, 17) are arranged in the annular grooves (10, 11).

  • Patent number: 8795562
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for pelletizing polymer melts comprising blowing agent in a pelletizing chamber through which a liquid flows, its pressure being above the ambient pressure. In a first step, the polymer melt is injected into the pelletizing chamber, in a second step the polymer melt is cut via a cutting apparatus into individual pellets and, in a third step, the pellets produced in the pelletizing process are discharged with the liquid from the pelletizing chamber and are then isolated from the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6463965
Abstract: A fuel tank having an inlet and an outlet is connected to a separate pressure vessel by means of a pump. Fuel vapors are pumped out of the tank and into the pressure vessel while the tank is being filled via the inlet, so that fuel vapors cannot escape during filling. After filling, the inlet is closed and the pressure in the tank is increased to about 4 bar by means of a pressure regulator in a line connecting the pressure vessel to the fuel tank. The pump is then switched off and the fuel can be delivered to the engine via the outlet under the increased fuel pressure in the tank, the pressure being reduced to fuel system pressure by a pressure regulator in the outlet line.

  • Patent number: 6230922
Abstract: A composite pressure vessel for storing gaseous media under pressure, having a plastic liner two neck pieces arranged in the neck region, and a winding of a fiber composite material that reinforces the liner. In the neck piece that accommodates the valve there is provided a clamping ring which can be screwed into the neck piece and has on the outer circumference a threaded section which is adjoined by a thread-free, frustoconical section. A groove is arranged between internally threaded sections of the neck piece to accommodate a sealing ring and extends radially into the neck piece. On the outside of the respective neck piece, in the region adjoining the collar, provision is made to arrange at least one bead which extends radially outward over the entire circumference.

  • Patent number: 5597430
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for manufacturing a body to be reinforced with a fiber-composite material, especially bottles or containers or metal or plastic for holding a pressurized gaseous medium, in which a plurality of light, high-strength inorganic or organic, non-conductive or conductive as well as non-metallic yarns are wrapped around the body, whereby individual fiber strands or fibers are unwound and are bundled and, prior to being wound on the body, are impregnated with a plastic material. The wrapping of the yarns is carried out with controllable, pre-tensioned yarns. During wrapping, the individual yarns are again impregnated with a polymer melt of thermoplastic and each individual wrapping layer is smoothed and/or cooled by a temperature-controlled roller.
