Patent number: 8278790Abstract: An assembly includes a frequency converter, a motor, and an adapter. The frequency converter and the motor both have housings with an opening. The adapter has a base part and a circuit board having first and second electrical connecting elements supported over a portion of a central opening of the base part. The adapter is between the housings with the central opening being between the openings of the housings. The base part is mechanically connected to the housings with the first electrical connecting element of the adapter engaging an electrical connecting element of the frequency converter via the opening of the converter housing and the central opening and with the second electrical connecting element of the adapter engaging an electrical connecting element of the motor via the opening of the motor housing and the central opening whereby the frequency converter and the motor are connected via the adapter.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2009Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Kostal Industrie Elektrik GmbHInventors: Christian Rueggen, Andrè Wustlich, Harald Bartholomeizik, Steffen Penzek

Patent number: 8197263Abstract: An electric receptacle and junction box for a solar cell module includes an enclosure base and an enclosure cover. The base has a first connector element for electrically contacting a strip conductor of a solar cell module, and a first conductor rail electrically connected to the first connector element. The cover has a second connector element for electrically contacting an output line, and a second conductor rail electrically connected to the second connector element. The first connector element and the first conductor rail are rigidly mechanically connected to the base. The second connector element and the second conductor rail are rigidly mechanically connected to the cover. Electrical contact is made between the first connector element and the first conductor rail and the second connector element and the second conductor rail in response to the enclosure cover and the enclosure base being joined together.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2010Date of Patent: June 12, 2012Assignee: Kostal Industrie Elektrik GmbHInventors: Christian Rueggen, Kay-Hendryk Schmidt

Patent number: 7648403Abstract: A printed circuit board (PCB) assembly includes a PCB and a screwless terminal connection having a conductor rail and a clamping spring. The PCB has a recess on an edge. The conductor rail has a base part soldered to the PCB and bridging the PCB recess. The base part includes an end extending past the PCB edge. The clamping spring includes three spring legs. The first leg contacts the base part and is between the base part and the PCB recess. The first leg includes an end extending past the PCB edge and contacting the end of the base part. The second leg extends from the first leg through the PCB recess and is beneath the PCB. The third leg includes a clamping aperture and extends upward from the second leg above the PCB. The ends of the base part and the first leg extend through the clamping aperture.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2009Date of Patent: January 19, 2010Assignee: Kostal Industrie Elektrik GmbHInventors: Christian Rueggen, Herwig Rilling

Patent number: 7618265Abstract: A solar cell module junction box includes a chamber and a clamping spring. The chamber has first and second walls each having bottom and top ends. The spring has first and second legs connected by a middle portion. The spring is inserted into the chamber such that the middle portion is adjacent to the bottom wall ends. The first leg is fixed to the first wall and the second leg is removably connectable to the second wall. The spring is movable between a closed position in which the second leg is disconnected from the second wall and moves toward the first leg and an opened position in which the second leg is connected to the second wall with the legs forming an opening. A conductor strip inserted between the legs is contacted by the second leg and held between the legs when the spring is in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2008Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: Kostal Industrie Elektrik GmbHInventors: Christian Rueggen, Axel Dickmann
