  • Patent number: 9524291
Abstract: Techniques involving visual display of information related to matching user utterances against graph patterns are described. In one or more implementations, an utterance of a user is obtained that has been indicated as corresponding to a graph pattern through linguistic analysis. The utterance is displayed in a user interface as a representation of the graph pattern.

  • Patent number: 5184956
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for training in the driving of vehicles and especially land vehicles, in which a sequence of images is displayed on a screen placed opposite to a driving station for a trainee driver and is caused to move in accordance with control operations initiated from said driving station. There are thus displayed on the screen both a front main image and at least one rear vision secondary image which is made visible on an associated rear-view mirror provided at the driving station. The main image and the secondary image are synthetic images generated by a computer from a data base containing the description of a three-dimensional road circuit.

  • Patent number: 4750888
Abstract: Training in the operation of moving vehicles is provided by an operating station comprising a steering wheel and a television monitor screen placed in front of the trainee driver. Theoretical steering control operations performed by a model driver on a previously recorded moving road landscape are used for producing the images of the road landscape as it moves in front of the trainee driver's control station. Steering errors made by the trainee driver are determined by comparison between the steering control operations performed by the trainee driver and the previously recorded model-driver steering control operations. Displacement of the images with respect to the television monitor screen is produced as a function of the trainee driver' s steering errors.

  • Patent number: 4743964
Abstract: An animated scene viewed simultaneously at two different angles is recorded in the form of video signals on two videodisks which thus contain after recording a sequence of left-hand images and a sequence of right-hand images respectively. The images are restituted in synchronism by two readers, the signals of which are transmitted for visual display to two monitors associated with mirrors for reflecting the displayed images respectively to the left eye and to the right eye of a viewer.

  • Patent number: 4657511
Abstract: A training device for indoor weapon-firing comprises a projector for displaying a sequence of moving images in visible light viewed by at least one firer and comprising a landscape with at least one target to be hit. Provision is made for at least one weapon equipped with a trigger mechanism and for an electronic computer assembly which has the function of controlling the emission of the infrared-radiation beam by means of the trigger mechanism. Another function of the electronic assembly is to stop the motion of projected images under the control of the trigger mechanism in order to interrupt the projection on one arrested visible image. A video camera serves to produce a video image of the arrested image and to selectively detect the trace of the infrared beam on the arrested image and to determine the trace location in its video image. A visible indication of the trace location is inserted electronically in the video image of the arrested image.

  • Patent number: 4577962
Abstract: A firing weapon is associated with a laser radiation source mounted in proximity to the weapon and also with a detector which is sensitive to the laser radiation. The orientation of the radiation is adjusted independently of the aiming of the weapon in order to carry out continuous detection of the target as a result of detection of radiation by the detector after reflection from the target. The orientation and the time of transit of radiation between source and target are utilized in order to obtain target data relating to position in elevation and in azimuth as well as distance of the target. The data are processed in order to orient a real shot or in order to compare the data quantitatively with the position of a simulated projectile which follows a fictitious trajectory.

  • Patent number: 4534735
Abstract: The simulation device provides training in the firing of rockets or guided missiles by means of a shoulder weapon. As soon as a shot is fired, the firer's field of view is occulted by a shutter. The aim at the instant of firing and the point of impact with respect to the target are displayed on an instructor's video screen. The target can be of a fictitious type generated by a computer and produced within the field of view of both the instructor and the firer at the same time. In the case of a real target, an index can be controlled by the instructor in order to locate the target and follow its progress up to the instant of firing. The result of the firing operation is judged according to the position of the point of impact with respect to the fictitious target or with respect to the index. The choice of the mode of operation is made on a control desk.

  • Patent number: 4521196
Abstract: In a training unit for aiming at fictitious targets as applicable in particular to a firing simulator, provision is made for an optical sighting device in which the line of sight from reticle image to target is orientable at least at the start of a fictitious-firing event. Target signals define successive images of a fictitious target as a function of the shape and continuous relative displacement of the target at least in distance from the training unit and/or in angular position with respect to the line of sight. Each successive target image is formed by means of a luminous point moving on a screen, the successive images thus formed being projected in the field of view of the sighting device.
