  • Publication number: 20050269145
Abstract: A method for the assisted steering, particularly the assisted maneuvering and parking, of a motor vehicle which includes determining a nominal driving path (X) with a starting point (S) and a destination point (Wnominal); providing an output of the nominal driving path (X), and setting the motor vehicle in motion. An actual position (W1) of the motor vehicle is determined, wherein a deviant circular arc (KA) traveled as well as a first (K1) and a second (K2) corrective circular arc are determined if the actual position (W1) deviates from the nominal driving path (X). The second corrective circular arc (K2) is a congruent projection of the deviant circular arc (KA) and ends at the destination point (Wnominal). A corrected nominal driving path (K1, K2) is provided as an output.

  • Patent number: 6798770
Abstract: Telephone calls are handled via the Internet between an interworking unit relating to the calling subscriber and an interworking unit relating to the called subscriber. At least the telecommunications network to which the calling subscriber belongs as well as the interworking units are operated by the same provider. Access by a calling subscriber to the interworking unit and the passing on of the dialed telephone number of the called subscriber to the interworking unit are made dependent on the identification of the call as an Internet telephone call and dependent on the result of an access authorization check. Charging for use of the telephone network and of the Internet for such a call does not commence until the connection is made, as in the case of a call which uses only the telephone network.

  • Patent number: 6541934
Abstract: In a method for controlling an electric drive, a controlled variable is adjusted to a desired value. To protect the electric drive, the controlled variable is first adjusted to the desired value in a precise manner. Thereafter, the control operation is interrupted, AND the difference between the controlled variable and the desired value is check continuously to see whether it exceed a preset threshold. Interruption of the control operation is terminated when the threshold has been reached or exceeded.

  • Publication number: 20030009688
Abstract: A system and method for communicating data between a user and a receiver over a telecommunications network is disclosed in which the data relates to filing information for applications relating to the protection of intellectual property. The method includes the step of the receiver initially registering the user to communicate the application data over the network to the receiver. Thereafter, the user transmits data to the receiver relating to the intellectual property application via the network. The receiver verifies the completeness of the transmitted data from the user and, thereafter, confirms receipt of the verified data over the network to the user.

  • Publication number: 20020139935
Abstract: The invention relates to a detector for detecting electrically neutral particles. The detector has a housing (10) filled with a counting gas. A converter (22) in the housing (10) generates conversion products as a result of the absorption of the neutral particles. The conversion products generate electrically charged particles in the counting gas, and a readout device (19) detects the electrically charged particles. A device (18) generates an electrical drift field for the electrically charged particles in a region of the volume of the counting gas so that at least some of the electrically charged particles drift toward the readout device (19). The converter device (22) is of charge-transparent design and being arranged in the detector housing (10) so that the drift field passes through at least part of this device.

  • Publication number: 20020104757
Abstract: Methods combining the creation of small bilayer membranes with the fusion of native cell membrane vesicles into those bilayer membranes. By placing a voltage gradient across the lipid bilayer and recording the transmembrane current, the activity of some membrane proteins, such as ion channels, can be analyzed. The methods permit access to a large variety of membrane proteins. The native vesicles may be derived from a variety of cells and intracellular organelles, and as the native cell membrane vesicles may be stored at low temperatures over long periods, the methods reduce the need to maintain cell cultures or obtain primary cells. Fluorescence measurements also may be performed on the bilayer membranes.
