  • Patent number: 6112820
Abstract: A spray nozzle for fire extinguishing devices with a nozzle body and a valve for a valve body provided at the nozzle opening, wherein the valve body is held in a closed position by a support member which is secured by a thermal release element. The support member is connected to the nozzle body through a hook-type connection and has a unilaterally protruding lever arm. A bearing lever is mounted on the nozzle body so as to be located opposite the protruding lever arm in such a way that the thermal release element is located between the protruding lever arm and the bearing lever laterally next to the nozzle body.

  • Patent number: 5927890
Abstract: A thermally released separation or disconnecting device, particularly for fire protection systems, includes two oppositely arranged joining members which are connected to each other and are subjected to a tensile force. A destructible thermal release element is held between the joining members. The joining members are constructed as stirrups with two legs each, wherein the stirrups equally absorb the tensile force. The destructible thermal release element is held between oppositely arranged legs of the stirrups and extends essentially perpendicularly of the direction of the tensile force in the locked position of the separation device. Each leg of one stirrup holding the thermal release element is connected in the locked position of the separation device to the other leg of the other stirrup in a positively engaging manner against the direction of the tensile force.

  • Patent number: 5311643
Abstract: A hinge for a foldable rail section for mounting a container of an oxygen supply unit in an aircraft, with a first hinge part on the rail section and a second hinge part on the edge of the container, and with a container door, which extends in parallel to the longitudinal side of the rail section and is pivotable around a joint on the rear edge of the container. The connection of the hinge to the container is simplified, and a stop is provided for the container door.

  • Patent number: 5301665
Abstract: A respirator for emergency oxygen supply for passengers in aircraft, with a mounting container (1), which can be closed with a lid (2), is fastened above the row of seats, and accommodates at least one breathing mask and an exothermic chemical oxygen generator (3) connected to the breathing mask in a holder (4, 5). The pivotability of the lid of the mounting container is improved by rigidly arranging the holder on the mounting container (1) such that it permits the oxygen generator (3) to change its place by pivoting in the case of use.

  • Patent number: 5253907
Abstract: A locking device for a door (3) of a container that is pivotable around a hinge with a first locking part (5) arranged stationary on the container, and a coupling pin (7) connected to the door (3). The coupling pin acts together with the first locking part (5) in an interlocking manner. Such that a simple adjustment of the door (3) is possible, it is provided that the first locking part (5) is attached outside the container on a mounting plane (6) which is integral with the container in the over-lapping area of the door (3), the coupling pin (7) is stroke-changeably mounted in a pin holding device (25), and that the coupling pin (7) has a first adjustment device (27) on its top end pointing to the rocker arm (18), with which, by action of an adjusting tool, which can be inserted into the locking piston (13) from the rocker arm, the depth of engagement of the coupling pin (7) into the first locking part ( 5), which determines the play between the container and the door (3), is changeable.

  • Patent number: 5213380
Abstract: A testing device (1) with a test button (4) and a rod-shaped plunger (5) for testing a locking device that can be actuated on a door (2) pivotable around a hinge on a container (3) is to be improved in terms of simple design and mounting. To simplify design and mounting, a fastening structure (8, 7) for the movable, rotatable mounting of the testing device (1) is arranged on the door (2). The end (13) of the plunger pointing toward the container (3) is provided with a holding structure (14) which is introduced into a mounting support (16) arranged permanently on the container (3) such that the holding structure (14) is out of engagement with the mounting support (16) in normal operation, and in testing operation. The holding structure engages the mounting support (16) in such a way as to limit the pivoting stroke of the door (2).

  • Patent number: 4832017
Abstract: A breathing mask has an elastic molded body which has area zones of materials of different hardnesses. This breathing mask is improved such that even with a one-piece molded configuration of the breathing mask, area zones of different hardness and constant wall thickness are provided. For this purpose, area zones integrated into the molded body are reinforced differently by means of a partial heat treatment.

  • Patent number: 4829603
Abstract: A protective suit has a zipper defining a pass-through opening with one end of the zipper being led over an indirect path about a region of the body which is not easily accessible by the wearer of the suit. The protective suit is improved so that for the purpose of easier opening, especially in emergency situations, the pass-through opening in the region of the indirect path can be opened by the suit wearer by a one-handed pull movement performed from a location within convenient reach and in any desirable direction suitable to the body. For this purpose, the zipper is provided with a slide on which a flexible pulling means acts which is guided along the indirect path.
