  • Publication number: 20080200137
Abstract: A method for receiving high frequency signals, wherein several receiver antennas receive said signals and transmit the signals of one antenna to a receiver, representing a selectable program content. It is possible to select at least one other antenna which received signals with the same program content but with better signal properties. According to the invention, the signals received by at least one antenna are examined for the data content thereof and it is possible to switch from one signal received by an antenna to another signal received by an antenna if the data content of one signal corresponds to the data content of the other signal or if, when the signals received by at least two antennas are examined for the data content thereof, it is possible to switch to another signal received by another antenna if the data content of the signal that is received by one antenna corresponds to the content of the other signal received by another antenna.

  • Patent number: 6716376
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a fiber composite material containing fibers with a high hot strength, in particular based on carbon, silicon, boron and/or nitrogen, a pressing compound being produced from fibers, a binder and, if appropriate, fillers and/or additives, which is then pressed in a press mold to form a green body. Various pressing compounds are produced, which contain fibers of different qualities and/or in different proportions, and the press mold is filled with the various pressing compounds in a number of successive steps. The invention also relates to a fiber composite material of this nature.

  • Patent number: 6627312
Abstract: A reinforcing fiber, in particular for fiber composite materials, has a core which is provided with a layer of a pyrolysable binder. A coating of pyrolytic carbon or sugar is provided between the core and the layer fiber strands are provided with reinforcing fibers of this type and fiber strands are coated in this way. Fiber composite materials can be prepared with these reinforcing fibers. Processes for producing reinforcing fibers and composite materials involve coating fiber strands.

  • Patent number: 6531011
Abstract: A brake unit having a brake disc of ceramic and a hub of a different material, which radially overlap one another with their mutually facing rims and are mechanically joined by a wreath-type rim of mounting bolts that axially penetrate the overlapping rims. The mounting bolts are uniformly included in the transmission of torque. Entrainment bores or slots provided in the brake disc are plastically lined with a metal or plastic sleeve, or the disc material is formed specifically to certain areas in this region as a plastically deformable C/C structure. A method is disclosed for manufacturing a partially ceramized molded article, in particular a brake disc having a C/C structure in the area of the entrainment bores or slots. A completely non-metallic brake unit and a method for its manufacture are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20010040076
Abstract: The invention relates to a brake unit (1) having a brake disc (2) of ceramic and a hub (10, 10′) of a different material, which radially overlap one another with their mutually facing rims and are mechanically joined by a wreath-type rim of mounting bolts (15) that axially penetrate the overlapping rims. Provision is made according to the present invention for the mounting bolts (15) to be uniformly included in the transmission of torque. For this, entrainment bores (5, 5′) or entrainment slots provided in the brake disc (2) are plastically lined according to the present invention with a metal or plastic sleeve (20), or the disc material is formed specifically to certain areas in this region (34) as a plastically deformable C/C structure. The invention relates furthermore to a method for manufacturing a partially ceramized molded article, in particular a brake disc (2) having a C/C structure in the area of the entrainment bores (5, 5′) or entrainment slots.

  • Patent number: 6261981
Abstract: The invention provides a fiber-reinforced composite ceramic containing high-temperature-resistant fibers, in particular fibres based on Si/C/B/N, which are reaction-bonded to a matrix based on Si, which is produced by impregnating fiber bundles of Si/C/B/N fibers with a binder suitable for pyrolysis and solidifying the binder, if desired subsequently conditioning the fiber bundles with an antisilicization layer suitable for pyrolysis, for example phenolic resin or polycarbosilane, subsequently preparing a mixture of fiber bundles, fillers such as SiC and carbon in the form of graphite or carbon black and binders, pressing the mixture to produce a green body and subsequently pyrolysing the latter under reduced pressure or protective gas to produce a porous shaped body which is then infiltrated, preferably under reduced pressure, with a silicon melt.

  • Patent number: 6094822
Abstract: A hedge clipper is provided that has an internal combustion engine that is to be started by hand. By means of a clutch and a gear mechanism, the engine drives cutting blades in a reciprocating manner; the cutting blades are guided and held in a cutter bar. Disposed on the output side of the clutch is a brake drum around which extends a brake band. The first end of the brake band is fixed to the housing, and the second end of the brake band is held on a pivotable brake lever that is acted upon by a brake spring that urges the brake band into engagement against the brake drum. The brake lever can be moved into an inoperative position of the band brake by a release lever against the force of the brake spring. The release lever cooperates with an adjusting cam that is disposed directly adjacent to the brake lever and in the inoperative position of the band brake forms a rest stop for the brake lever, receiving the force of the brake spring.

  • Patent number: 3975740
Abstract: A liquid jet recorder having a jet ejecting arrangement, and which is connected to a pressure medium conduit for the jet-like ejection of an electrically-conductive recording liquid against a spot on a recording carrier. The liquid ejecting arrangement consists of a plurality of jet nozzles wich are jointly supplied from a common pump, which are so directed that the liquid jets ejected therefrom impinge directly adjacent each other against the recording carrier, and the liquid jets from all nozzles penetrate through a common control electrode. The number of jet nozzles in the inventive liquid jet recorder is coordinated with the desired image results and with the desired recording velocity.
